Does windier May mean early rain

I mentioned to my gardener that May has been windier than any the past 4 yrs I’ve been here. He said strong winds in May indicates rainy season arrives sooner. Anyone else observed such a pattern?

We have strong westerlies which I would think would prevent the easterlies that carry most of the moisture for the rainy season.

Historically, it is going to start raining in June no matter how windy it is.

Well, so much for my gardener's "wisdom." But as Ferret said, we can only hope.

And remember that every year we get 1-2 heavy rains the last 10 days of May that newbies wonder are “early rainy season”, followed by 10-14+ days of no rain.

That is pretty much confirmed if one looks at the chart above for May rainfall over the years.  Average 1.33" but several years from 2-4 inches!  We tend to forget that when guessing when the rainy season 'starts'.   I assume these figures are in Rancho del Oro.
