  1. How can I work remotely for an US company if I’m currently living in Guadalajara? I
  2. Today I passed through Guadalajara airport and bought a taxi ticket, as I always do. Cost 435 pesos. Gave 600 pesos as I had to use the ATM to get Mexican cash. Received coins in one hand and bills in the other. Paused to figure out which change to deal with first and noticed that the ticket seller had not put the money I gave him into the cash till. Strange, double checked bills I'd been given: 100 pesos short!!!😠 What burns me is that people like him play into misconceptions about Mexicans. I have NEVER encountered dishonesty here before. Shame on him and I told him so though not in the politest of terms!šŸ˜‚ Moral of the story: don't get distracted by the coins, focus on the bills! I reported him. If you want details re. his identity pm me.
  3. If anyone is considering using his services, you are welcome to contact me privately. After 6 months working with him as architect/builder, we have separated him from the project. For anyone who has built a home anywhere, you will know this was/is a big decision. Beyond my comments, there are other sources of information on his work. For those of you that live locally, Francisco Nando of Las Salvias Aluminum is aware of some architectural review board that covers architects, including those from Guadalajara. If you are aware of this source, you can check on your own or check with Francisco in how to access that information source.
  4. My friend's SS deposits stopped in January, and they are telling her the only way to fix it is to go into the American Embassy in Guadalajara. Has anyone out there had any experience dealing with a SS problem at the Embassy in Guad? Any help will be much appreciated.
