  1. Hi there, My name is Marc, a 35yo dutch guy. I was hoping anyone could give me some information/feedback on the following subject:-) I plan to start up a (small) business around Chapala/Ajijic region and rent e-bikes. Recently i’ve visited Chapala a couple of times and apart from the fact that i personally love the place, believe that there are possibilities. I suppose here on the forum are quite a lot of members active who might be living in the region for whay much longer, and might have some knowhow or relevant information/tips? Many thanks in advance, Marc
  2. Im looking for someone in or close to Ajijic/Lake Chapala that could make a custom quickdraw holster for a revolver with a 6" barrel.
  3. If you haven't been for a boat ride on Lake Chapala, here is your chance. The Ranch no-kill dog shelter is holding a sunset/full-moon rise cruise on Lake Chapala. It's a really fun event with food and entertainment by Polanco + Steadman.
  4. Lots of folks who would not invite just anybody might rent for a month to friends or trusted folks. If you want to travel somewhere, we can pay some of your expenses while you do that and treat your home like it should be treated. We are a quiet couple who superhost an Airbnb in Canada and caretake an executive home in Arizona. You can see our dozens of 5 star reviews on Airbnb. We have references galore. I am a retired Property Appraiser and my wife worked with special needs students. No pets, no parties. AND we are here in Chapala for 3 more weeks, so we can meet and gain each others trust. Friends you have not met yet. We are looking at renting NEXT year, November-December 2020 Our needs are simple, we need a house for a month or so as we spend a month in Mexico every year. Best for us is December but we are flexible. We like to hike and are making friends in the Ajijic hiking group. Several have already suggested we stay in their home and house swap while they travel but we are not in that position as our house in AZ is entrusted to us. Please PM me if this appeals to you or one of your friends. In any case, thanks for reading! Willy and Mona
  5. The Ajijic Fishing Club went to Christiana Park on April 30th to provide some fishing fun for kids attending "Kids Day" at the park. Hundreds of kids attended and a lot of them came to us and spent some time catching plastic fish in a few inches of water. It doesn't sound very exciting, but even after we ran out of prizes, the kids kept coming, smiling, laughing. We probably won't be remembered by the kids, but the parents thanked us . Possibly they will be Fishing Club members some day.
  6. Lisa, has her usual a teaser to get you to subscribe. She writes that "Mega" development was approved. There is a map but I cannot make out where it is. Is this for real? I do not have a subscription as she never reimbursed us subscribers the last time she was doing this and then just stopped . Not even when sent an email and asking for it.

  9. LOST SERVICE DOG - URGENT: Bella, our beloved dog is still missing (4 days now) but we have new hope if you help us. Bella has a "Tile" bluetooth GPS tag on her collar that transmits to cell phones within 150 feet running the "Tile App". If you are Lakeside, PLEASE HELP US. It will take less than 5 minutes and may SAVE Bella's life. TILE INSTRUCTIONS: 1) Download the Tile App (no cost), quickly create an account, and enable Tile Notifications: /www.thetileapp.com/es-mx/ 2) Message me (+1 415 746 0768) with your email address used for Tile account. 3) We'll "Share" her collar tile with your account and you will see it in your Tile app. 4) Keep the Tile app OPEN in your cell's background and make sure Bluetooth is "on." The main top Tile icon will light up green if you are within range of her. If you get a signal, call me at +1 415 225 3258 PLEASE, at ANY hour. "Tile" does not access your data; any website about it confirms it is a legitimate app. Alone, finding Bella is a needle in a haystack but with Lakeside community help it becomes a dragnet and we will find her!! If you don't want the reward we will give it to a shelter. Please also SHARE this info.😭 OUR BELLA: Bella got scared of the fireworks and jumped out of a crack through an under-construction elevator shaft and dropped 9ft from our house at 6pm Thursday night and does not have the skills to survive on the street. She is a 10-year old white Maltese, ten pounds/4+ kilos, last seen on Rio Lerma in Rancho del Oro. Small but fast so she could have covered a good distance by now. Friendly, approachable, loves kisses. Wearing a blue/yellow/red striped collar with white GPS Tile tag. Silver name tag reads Bella and gives both "415" and "650" phone numbers for Mel and Aura, and a California address. She is visiting and not likely to know the way back here. If you find her please call 376 766 2863 or +1 415 225 3258. If you have friends around Lakeside, please SHARE this post. 🙏 We're beyond devastated and just want or baby back. 💔

  12. Who would I contact to remind the Mayor that there are significant opportunities to attract internet technical workers from all over the world to Chapala/Ajijic. All that would be required would be access to the Federal internet super high speed connection (which runs along the toll road to CDMX). Maybe even the Federal government would pay for a limited connection. It would attract a younger crowd, with good paying jobs, who would rather work in the great weather and easygoing, healthy lifestyle here. It really wouldn't take too much to attract these people here. Once started, word would get around very quickly. Maybe even Carlos Slim could get behind this initiative. If Telmex was gifted access to speeds up to 100mps, I'm sure they would be willing to technically support it, etc. Yes, they will probably attract call centres here too - but that creates a lot of employment.

  14. In the process of interviewing potential builders for a new house. I've talked with Mr. Cawthorn and now would like to find some others who have used him for a remodel, an addition, built a new home, etc. to get their comments on the experience in general, the workmanship, timeliness, cost, etc. You can post her, or send me a PM. Thanks.
