  1. If I have a heart attack, or a stroke here I much prefer to go to a hospital here where hopefully I can receive the clot busting drug. That of course assumes it (they) will have an emergency roomed staffed by an ER doctor and nurse(s).
  2. I remember back in the days when we renewed our DL in Riberas I learned the hard way that all copies of any required document have to be in black and white.
  3. You can pay the fee for you drivers license at the Recaudadora in Chapala and then go to Guadalajara to actually obtain the license. I do this just because it is one less line to stand in when you get to wherever you are going.
  4. No it would not but then I would be an English speaker in an English language country. Here in Mexico on this website we have Mexicans with whom English is a second language, and we have English speakers for whom Spanish is a second language. My point is that I do not think we have to be so critical of spelling mistakes.
  5. Oh really. Now we are going to correct spelling.
  6. One thing about ceiling fans with lights....My fan with lights I bought at Home Depot several years ago. Recently one of the lights burned out. When I went looking for a replacement I found that the old type of lights are no longer made and nobody was selling them. I had to get HD lights for my fan in GDL.
  7. I am in Upper Ajijic a little east of you and no problem here.
  8. Thank you for the link. It worked great. Easy to print my new color CURP with Barcode.
  9. Merrill Lynch does call me. Not from any telephone in the office but only from those that are setup for international calls.
  10. They are commonly call BoBo's. They are essentially a tiny flying piece of fluff. They are very short lived, and while they are a nuisance, they do no harm to plants, people, or beasts. If they get in your house they die overnight usually piled around your lamps.
  11. Please explain Article 182, VII Tried copy and pasting but no go.
  12. I have used Mercado Libre many times for several years. Any problems have always been worked out (usually with delivery).
  13. Thank you so much for asking the question and for all of the replies.
  14. There was a report on Chapala.com many months ago that the office in Ocotlan was no longer taking people from Chapala. I do not know if this is true and/or still in effect but I mention it so others can weigh in with current info.
  15. I recently returned from two weeks in South America and nothing was different with leaving Mexico and returning home to Mexico. I am a Permanent Resident.
  16. Sorry, my mistake. No, I should have said meters. Being Mexico of course the size of the air conditioning unit required is based on the square meters of the room.
  17. I just completed a comparison between Electroventa and Tio Sams on Tuesday. The cost for a 1.5 T (20 square feet room) cooling only Whirlpool was $6926 at Tio Sams and $7300 at Electroventa. Both places would have to order the unit. Electroventa also carries Mirage but it is mnf. in China and for me that is a no go. Installation was also cheaper at Tio Sams. The man is scheduled from Guadalajara.
  18. Does any lab give a senior DIF discount?
  19. Probably not what you want to hear but I would not give #1, #2, #3 a second thought.
  20. Here again there are no Podiatrists in Mexico. Medical School of Podiatry is a separate degree from a medical doctor in the US. There may be retired Podiatrists living here but the other individuals who treat feet locally are not what is known as a Podiatrist.
  21. What happend to the computer people? I thought they had a good clientele.
  22. Yes it is available but I do not know the cost. Metoprolol is the generic name and when you are in Mexico just show the name and strength in writing (as you typed it). Do not try to pronounce it or ask for it verbally unless you are fluent in Spanish.
