  1. The owners of the China Inn met while working at a sushi bar. I believe the wife is from Japan. I like the Szechuan pork with tofu and mushrooms at Min Wah.
  2. Cedros, you might want to get out a little more. Ajijic has many bicyclists, both recreational and as a mode of transportation.
  3. I also have lived in numerous countries, some that I could not have afforded without a corporate package that covered the rent, car, and a cost of living adjustment. I adjusted to the local norms. In some countries there was no tipping—it was considered an insult. In others there was a yearly ‘tip’ in the form of a significant financial gift. In others, the wedding guest needed to contact the venue to ensure that the wedding gift, always money, covered at least the cost of your part of the party.
  4. Betty does a good job with her dim sum meals, but it is not the same I lived in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Sydney and I want carts, and hundreds of diners around me.
  5. Copel department store in Chapala, underground parking.
  6. We became Apple people the day we retired; iMac, iPhones, iPads. We do have Office for Macs and we are very happy. The interface never changes. Changes and upgrades are behind the scene. Viruses are not our problem.
  7. Because you are stealing if you don’t pay.
  8. We do not need fossil fuels. Advanced countries have virtually abandoned fossil fuels.
  9. If crime reporting is nor allowed then why is there a discussion about a man who was attacked by a gringo’s dog? That sounds like a crime to me.
  10. I am amazed that this board has not given attention to the shooting of my Canadian friend on Friday.
  11. Is anyone else experiencing frequent CFE outtages, sometimes as short as a few seconds? Upper Ajijic.
  12. I knew there was a reason I had not checked this site recently.
  13. I personally know more than 140 people who have returned in the 14 years I gave lived here.
  14. This is very relevant to our lives here.
  15. Ask your housekeeper if she would cook.
  16. The dams are opened every year. The lake is at 70%, maybe a bit more. 100% takes it way up.
  17. You do know that More Liana lives in Mexico. Maybe someone here sgould take the initiative.
  18. Or consider another part of the US. In the meantime, contact your closest consulate to see what the current financial requirements are. I read recently that Mexico is looking at taxing online workers. Talk with your financial advisor about whether you would be liable for double taxation.
  19. We ask questions because we are asked to give answers. If you are concerned about the costs for a quick visit you probably cannot afford to live here.
