  1. Hi Mario. Thanks for posting. Is there a way to contribute financially if I can't volunteer in person?
  2. Wow! Looks beautiful. Hope to get to see one sometime.
  3. That was fun. Thanks for sharing. I got a Spanish lesson and a bee lesson at the same time. Happy Earth Day!
  4. Super La Huerta was selling liquor again today too.
  5. Give this a try. It's as much fun seeing the creative ideas of others as it is naming the colors. I warn you, it is addicting!
  6. Won't play for me either... it flashes to the start of the video for a second or two, then reverts back to the original screen shot.
  7. That's good news. They were doing the same thing at Super La Huerta yesterday. Unfortunately, I was the only one wearing a mask.
  8. Are you sure? I just received an order via home delivery, including several bottles of wine. They do have some municipalities listed on their website where they are not selling alcohol. Hoping we won't be added!
  9. Muchisimas gracias Ferret!
  10. “The tragedy we are experiencing summons us to take seriously the things that are serious, and not to be caught up in those that matter less; to rediscover that life is of no use if not used to serve others. For life is measured by love,” Francis said on Sunday. “May we reach out to those who are suffering and those most in need. May we not be concerned about what we lack, but what good we can do for others,” he said.
  11. They really have worked out the kinks! I placed an order late on Saturday and it was delivered right at the promised time on Sunday by two courteous gentlemen wearing masks and gloves. Instead of pre-paying I paid by credit card when the delivery arrived, so I wasn't charged for any out-of-stock items. The refrigerated items were packed in a separate cooler and arrived cold. I will definitely be ordering again.
  12. Love H. E. B.! They truly are part of the communities they serve.
  13. We are in the market for a car/small SUV and I have the "wants" in terms of decorating our new house with some local finds and adding some color to our garden. I'm with HoneyBee though...better keep my "wants" to myself and spend a little time nurturing my savings. We are fortunate to be here and have everything we need.
  14. We moved recently and got multiple quotes before selecting a company. After our research we chose US Bordermovers. They took care of everything, from packing to handling the border crossing to putting our things in place in our new home. Their pricing was competitive and their delivery guarantee window was much more narrow than what we got from Strom White. We flew in on a Thursday and our things arrived the following Tuesday. The company is based in Arizona. PM me if you would like additional information. Good luck with your move!
  15. If I can only list one thing, Seren said it. It's the beauty of the Mexican people and culture that make Ajijic special.
  16. My hobby is photography...took this one in the garden at Delicia's recently. Isn't he handsome?
  17. We had great success on multiple occasions with VRBO and also enjoyed a stay at Villa del Angel prior to moving here.
  18. Differences of opinion are fine and debate is interesting. It's the nasty, personal attacks that I find confusing.
  19. Initially I was excited to find this forum of locals to help me learn and navigate living in a new community and country. The more I read however, the more discouraged I’ve become. What makes the world an interesting place is that we all come from different backgrounds and have varied life experiences which of course lead us to have different thoughts and opinions. One thing we do have in common is that we’ve chosen to make this community our home. Is it possible for us to share, consider the points of view others and even disagree without resorting to nasty personal attacks on this forum? I may be completely off base in posting here, but with all the craziness in the world right now it seems like the perfect time to practice some care, compassion and camaraderie within this community.
  20. Thank you all for the education. I am familiar with cicadas...just had never heard of a rainbird!
