Our lids are rusting. Jars are fine. SuperLake used to have packs of the lids separate but none today. Any place to buy just the mason jar lids with sealing rings in them.

I have 12- lids with rings I'll never use again. No rust noted.

Only two were ever used and they have writing on them. The seals are still good.

If $100 sounds fair, I can meet you somewhere east of Walmart most mornings.

  2. Thanks for sharing, Tingting.

I will keep it short and just share that we have given Letra Ch as many chances as we care to.

On our last visit, I ordered a Mojito which I had enjoyed on a previous visit. Upon first glance I could see something was amiss, so I took just a wee sip. Bleck!! Not wanting to cause a scene, I walked to the bar, drink in hand. I quietly expressed that this was not a Mojito, but that it tasted like mouth wash. The bartender defended her mix stating that in the absence of fresh mint she had substituted cream de menthe. Oh, dear baby cheesus, no!

We don't imbibe any longer, nor do we plan to revisit the sometimes alright and sometimes almost inedible food.

    What a shame.

  3. We went to Lake Medical Group across from Superlake to ask about this as they very heavily advertise that they accept Medicare Advantage Plan  coverage.

I was honest and related that we are permanent residents and that my wife was considering signing up for an Advantage Plan on her 65th birthday if it would cover her here. She asked if Social Security knows where we live, and I replied that of course they do. She immediately shook her head "no" and said that only residents of the US are eligible and if they find out you live outside the US you will be canceled and you would then be responsible for any outstanding bills.

My life experiences have taught me that using lies to get what I want is generally a piss-poor idea. This whole business stinks.

Yes, I know that "we/I" have forever stated that that would be fraudulent, but I for one have never verified with Medicare or my Advantage insurance company as to the issue. Have you? Incidentally all MA policies are issued by private companies, not Medicare themselves. As such they get to have some different "rules" from/than Medicare. Maybe this is one that they "allow" but just don't advertise to the masses.

I am asking Jeff Goble to provide me with some "proof" that what he is saying has been vetted by MA company (s) or is he just winging it and just hasn't been caught....yet!?

I would be willing to bet that the answers from Medicare and Medicare Advantage would be different.

Medicare Advantage plans, like all insurance companies are out for as much profit as they can squeeze. The more they bill Medicare for, the greater their bottom line. So, they don't probably give two shirts that Jeff's scam is being run in Mexico, but you can bet Medicare would.

I have read multiple articles very recently about Medicare suing Medicare Advantage plans for fraudulent activity. It chaps my cheeks that for profit companies play with the healthcare of people who need it.

His east end store also has a restaurant and cooked food to go.  Is it the same with the new westside location?  To me that qualifies as la cocina

    Not yet.

The second floor will be a restaurant when construction is completed.

Yes, there is an elevator for those who can't handle stairs.

I use my BBVA electronic debit card (security number is only valid for 5 minutes) and never had a problem. I probably purchased over 100 times ranging from coffee, poop bags to tools. I also have a credit with them that I can use for future orders. (basically, I have no need for Walmart or Soriana). Forgot to mention that most orders arrive the next day. 😊

I just received one of my BP meds that I ordered through ML. Cheaper by half than buying them on a Monday from Similares. I pay using my BBVA credit card and I have never had anything remotely resembling an issue.

Wasn't it this morning we were supposed to have been woken up at 5am to a bombardment of rockets that usually go on for 2 hours or so to get the whole pueblo up and about in a cheerful and happy mood so they can get ready for misa??  Well this was the first year in my 11 years here that I didn't hear a thing.   And I am referencing Chapala since I don't know what or how they do it in the other pueblos.

We heard them up here in Chapala Haciendas.

Maybe you have been struck deaf after 11 years, assuming you're closer to the origin than we are.
