  1. BEIJING (AP) — In a rare admission of the weakness of Chinese coronavirus vaccines, the country’s top disease control official says their effectiveness is low and the government is considering mixing them to get a boost.

    ...

The effectiveness of a Sinovac vaccine at preventing symptomatic infections was found to be as low as 50.4% by researchers in Brazil, near the 50% threshold at which health experts say a vaccine is useful. By comparison, the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine has been found to be 97% effective.

I used the word to describe the policy as Happy has explained to you.  However if you wish to take it upon yourself, please feel free to do so.

I paid them the membership fee and therefore are entitled to use the facilities until and unless they chose to cancel that membership and return said fee.

Have you not seen the videos of belligerent Costco members being forceably removed from the stores for not complying with mask requirements?

It's in their best interest to make sure that they have a safe venue for their members to shop in. No comply, no buy.

Costco isn't obliged to allow in its members who've paid a fee? You think?

Yes. Exactly. That is the purpose of selling memberships: to control or limit who is part of your club, business or organization.

If not, why would they? They're not raking in billions in profit from the membership fees. It's the exclusivity of being a member and the benefits that come with it. What a "club" giveth, they can taketh away.

Hey, I've been a happy Costco member for almost 30 years. But I'm also far younger than 60, so whatever... I get to shop. 😜

How do we get a Spanish copy of this order?  I want to carry it into Costco on Thursday in case they haven't gotten the message.

Costco, because it charges a membership fee, can restrict access to anyone it wishes to.

They are under no obligation to allow anyone in that they don't want to.

The poor writing skills, and atrocious grammar, may be an indication of the reasons for such a high level of confusion.

Some just never learn much if they cannot understand what they read.

    Thank you, RV.

I am considerably younger than the average person posting on this board, and I am always amazed at the poor quality of the writing here. For a generation brought up before the "decline" of the educational system, there sure are a lot of very sloppy communicators posting on this site.

I suppose I shouldn't have let my expectations get too high.

    Let the "downvotes" commence. 😜

  6. Although I have had somewhat better luck with the beer, Oregontochapala is 100% right on the other points. Indifferent service even when we're unfailingly polite and pleasant, very inconsistent food, and acoustics so poor that it's almost impossible to hold a conversation when there are more than a couple of tables occupied.

It's a real shame that it's not better... The potential is there.

Is this..... terrible wifi performance.... not a from-the-git-go problem with iLOX???  Either get a mesh system or attach a 'low-cost' router w/wifi hardwired to the modem.

Also, I'm wondering if at Lakeside all Internet speeds are not lower due to sequestration?  Surely is here in Colorado where before I got 100mbps down w/cable but now lucky to see a consistent 30.

We've had no issues at all with west-side Telmex fiber optic before or during this self-isolation; I'm still getting 25% more speed than contracted for and no problems with WiFi... even on the terrace without mesh or a repeater.

I know this is a very different experience than many have with Telmex, and I hope it gets better for all of you. 👍

Is there such a thing as vehicular manslaughter in Mexico ? What kind of consequence will the car driver face ? Just curious

Depends on a combination of how good, connected, and/or expensive his lawyer is.

I'm not being facetious, that's just the way things are.

  9. Five of us went there this morning, and I had the Italian omelette as well.

    Everything was excellent all around.

People may wonder why we're going on about this place when there are so many other restaurants out there.

Well, for me, it's not just because the food is very good... but also because the owners really want you to have a great experience. So many places here are indifferent to their customers, and get complacent. Not so with Sentidos. They are really busting their butts, and it shows.

  10. Went there today.

I try to resist recommending restaurants, but I will in this case.

It's run by a very nice young owner named Horacio. He was so gracious and friendly, and the place was super clean, bright and airy without being chilly at all on a January morning.

The items on the menu were not expensive; very much in line price-wise with Cafe Negro and Cafe Huerto. We were very happy with the quality, portions, and service.

Open 8 AM - 3 PM, closed Mondays. They're working on a dinner menu, but we were able to have lunch items during breakfast hours without any problems. They are very eager to please, and really seemed to have their act together.

    It's well worth a try. 👍

Then tell us about it. Because the first fracc that I had experience with was on the libramiento, and not only did they pay a big chunk up front, they will be paying extra every month in their condo fees for the next four years. Please remember that I don't post things here without knowing them for sure... generally speaking. I have made mistakes.

The next one was a fracc west of town. Now there is one in south Riberas telling me the same.

Well, each development negotiates its own cost... Depending on the number of houses and existing infrastructure, among other things. However, I can say with confidence that the fracc on the libramiento and my development are as different as chalk and cheese.
