  1. Does anyone have a recommendation for a company or independent guy who cleans solar panels? It requires climbing up on the tile roof. Thanks for any info.
  2. I have found both here & in the US & Canada the larger the wings the likelier they can be overcooked or undercooked. Maybe depends on the chef. We have had really good wings at Wings Army & really bad ones, really my main objection about the place is the extremely loud music And also the fact that they quite often do not have any draft beer. Not an issue for everyone but it is for us ! We wing lovers are quite picky about what would hardly be considered a gourmet meal. As for a table of smokers, Vancouver wings has a bigger outdoor seating area. I agree about the younger crowd & the loud music, 50 years ago I was the same. My husband is hard of hearing, it does not bother him. I leave both places if forced to sit inside, with a hoarse voice & ringing ears.
  3. We prefer Vancouver Wings over Wings Army. For us, the sauces are tastier & I personally prefer smaller wings. Also, at Vancouver Wings there is plenty of outside seating. Inside the music can be really loud. Okay, you do have to settle your chair into the gravel, but at least outside is reasonably quiet. At Wings Army the inside music is also so loud it is almost impossible to carry on a conversation. Outside is a little quieter but you may get a table full of smokers a few feet away. Both restaurants cater to a young late-night crowd as we have witnessed on the rare occasions we are driving past later at night. We also like the convenience of having the car washed while we eat at Vancouver Wings. Get there early if the car wash is of interest, they close by 5:30. If you are a wing lover try both.
  4. Happened to run into Hector this morning. He said he would come & take photos. Thanks for the suggestion Harry.
  5. We are very happy that most of the potholes on our street were filled two weeks ago. They did not clean up the mess afterwards. I asked & was told they would be back in the morning. Nope. The two rain storms did wash away some of the sand & gravel but quite a bit of that & a pile of cobblestones still remain & are all on the street corner.. Technically the sand, gravel & cobblestones belong to the municipality. It is a hazard for kids & older adults trying to negotiate the street. Would it pose a legal problem if I hire a guy & truck to haul it away?
  6. Thanks for all the great info. It has really helped.
  7. I have changed charging cables & tried different ports..Benno's is a good idea. Thanks for the ideas.
  8. My 6 year old google tablet will no longer fully charge. It's been plugged in for 10 hours & only at 13%. Should I be looking for a new one or is it possible to replace the battery? Thanks for any info.
  9. Telemex installed a new telephone pole on the north west corner of Encarnacion Rosas & Constitution on Wednesday  July 31. There are stones, dirt, large branches and chunks of wood blocking the sidewalk. It is really a mess.  I have seen  both children & older adults having to step down off a very high curb & walk on a fairly busy street to get past. Is Telemex not responsible to clean up their mess?  If not them, who is?

  10. Thank you one & all, excellent suggestions.
  11. Has anyone had experience building a palapa roof here at lakeside. I am trying to find who does this kind of work. Google sends me to companies in Texas. Thanks for any info.
  12. Have had 5 over the past few days. 473-149-1391 833-244-4334 444-171-1757 669-256-3302 449-462-9982 No caller left a message so assume its scammers. I do not recognize any of these numbers.
  13. I pass by frequently & find her hours are very erratic. Sometimes in the afternoon, sometimes in the evening. Yet to see the door open in the morning but any of these hours could change daily.
  14. I have one corded phone in the house with no caller ID so I tend to answer if I am in the same room, just in case. All others I do not answer if the number is not familiar. This was the first one of these scam calls for several months so yes, maybe tis the season.
  15. Got a call today from one of the "hey do you remember me?" scammers. I told him to f..k off. Number recorded on my phone is 998 395 7729. Beware!
  16. We live central Ajijic & definitely much less traffic than usual, my first thought also was saving it all for Semana Santa.
  17. There is a really big one on Encarnacion Rosas just before Constitucon going south from Farmacia Guadalajara. It stretches across the street & is impossible to avoid.
  18. Following up on the discussion about treatment for sciatica, I saw my orthopedic surgeon last week. He says every case can be different, sometimes acupuncture helps, sometimes chiropractic treatment helps, often physio can be the solution. But, if it is chronic get an MRI & find the root of the problem. I would think most Drs. would say the same thing.
  19. Yo1, thank you for this information. I absolutely agree.
  20. Thanks for both viewpoints. I have had acupuncture in the past & it has helped. It tends to flare up every few months. I am seeing my orthopedic surgeon for an unrelated issue on Tues. & will ask his opinion. Will post what he says.
  21. Has anyone had treatment from this Dr. ? He's located in the Interlago Plaza. I am having sciatic nerve problems. Thanks for any info.
