  1. Suggestions on best place to purchase (4) tires for a CRV -SUV lakeside please. Names, locations or phone number of place being recommended please. New tires only. If you found the tires Lakeside were not equivalent of that in Guad, those recommendations would be appreciated as well. Thank you!
  2. Doesn't matter what address you use in the least. It can be anywhere! All foreigners can get it as well.
  3. I just heard now it is everyone included over the age of 50 : mayores de 50 no tiene límite, pueden tener 70, 80, etc.
  4. I have no idea if this serves as a certificate, nor are we vaccinated, so I could not try this (can't confirm) but this is the info I noticed being posted. go to https://mivacuna.salud.gob.mx/index.php and enter your CURP, now the vaccination record is uploaded
  5. I am wondering the same. I noticed that the registration website now simply says 50 and older registration. Can anyone confirm that future vaccinations would include that of that 50-59 age group with it also open to 60 and over? It just makes sense that they are expanding the age group, rather than limiting it to the 50-59.
  6. The thinking around the abstinence is a few days before and after only because... You need to have your immune system working tip-top to have a good response to the vaccine, so if you're drinking the night before, or shortly afterwards, that's not going to help!
  7. I wasn't referencing the threat to those that breeze through unmasked, but rather to those who are in that market, for you can still get this virus via that route while being masked. Most masks protect those around you, but can still leave you open to those who are unmasked. Yes, that masked recipient could have a reduced viral load by wearing that mask. But make no mistake, if someone is unmasked around that unmasked asymptomatic person... you can catch the virus from that person. So what does a mask do? It’s likely that face masks, by blocking even some of the virus-carrying droplets you inhale, can reduce your risk of falling seriously ill from COVID-19, according to Monica Gandhi, MD, an infectious disease specialist at UC San Francisco. “The more virus you get into your body, the more sick you are likely to get,” she said.
  8. Lack of preparation (lacking vaccine?), and other areas acknowledged. Yes we are each responsible for our actions. Agreed taking others into consideration, and not placing others at risk... and in that sense (we can argue the semantics of this, till we are blue in the face) yes, we should understand that we are in that sense all in this together. Rights are a gray area, until they expose others to risk. That is exactly what is going on in our world now. People feel their rights have been taken from them as they breeze through a market unmasked. To decide to take those risks for others, isn't right. For ourselves fine. Like I said we can argue this till blue in the face.
  9. Agreed, and one point further... By protecting ourselves we fulfill a responsibility to others. This is much more than about the "me" but rather it is about the "we". We (lol) can forget about that image some have painted about individual freedoms and rights. When such beliefs expose others to risk, we must put those beliefs to the side, and take care of our communities. We are truly all in this together. And, as Jim Bowie said, it's not going away anytime soon.
  10. Never vac'd due to infection with Covid? Better to be vaccinated (I will drive to the border for Pfizer), even if you had the virus, especially early on. First off : That type of immunity only endures roughly 8 months. Secondly: Even if someone has antibodies to the coronavirus — through a natural infection or a vaccine — some mutations can stymie the antibodies’ ability to latch onto the virus and prevent it from infecting cells. Though antibodies make up only one part of the immune system’s arsenal to eliminate viruses from the body, the variants’ ability to dodge the immune proteins could put people who have already recovered from a bout of COVID-19 at risk of getting infected again.
  11. Yes, looks very nice and is going to good use. Who rides a bicycle on this path? Are there any groups that ride together or would like another rider? I've got a bike just gathering dust.
  12. Yeah the Ajijic Clinic had me until I started running my lab tests to my US doc: They had run lab tests, diagnosed me with Salmonella, only for my US Doc (Worked with NIA research) to later explain: "Well it's too bad you started those antibiotics, for you didn't have an active case of Salmonella. The labs simply indicate at one point in your life you had it. Then he went onto explain: "If you did have an active case, that antibiotic and line of treatment would not help you with it. That drug is incorrectly prescribed if treating Salmonella." I thought one mishap, and at a later date, without any blood workup whatsoever... They said I had Salmonella again, said it was Salmonella season (lol). I said how do you know that without test results? The response was "I am doctor". Hmmmm Try running those labs you get for such diagnosis, through a US doctor. You may be surprised.
  13. Thank you for your advice and sharing of your experience. This is very helpful. I was planning on staying overnight, though I may stretch that to two nights for good measure. Yes, a response from the vaccine is a good thing. That aunt I mentioned was the only one from the US, that didn't have a response (out of a good 50 clients/family members) for that of the Pfizer vaccine. But keep in mind she is 103 years of age. All information is taken into account, and I do appreciate your taking the time to share. May we all stay healthy and put this crisis behind us.
  14. I am the female portion of this couple/screen. It is I who would like to pair up with a travel buddy! Again, I am setting my sights on later in May thru June to do this trip. Just drop me a line (PM) if you think we might be a match and can help one another out! I am happy that this thread has brought another route of vaccination to those desiring that protection. We must keep in mind that we are all in this together. We have a responsibility to others, to take steps so we are not spreaders. I also understand that this pandemic is wearing on many. I have a 103 year old aunt who says if she waits till it is over, till she goes out, she may never go out. I get that. Still we encouraged her to be fully vaccinated before roaming about town, or bringing back the virus to the other seniors in her independent living building. She loves running about town, via taxi and bus to all the medical appointments she loves so.. (ja ja ja - she really likes that activity) As part of my work, I manage those who are disabled, and give them a life that is up a few notches, more than they would have experienced/imagined. A large number of my population never leave their bed or go out because they are wheelchair bound and it is not easy to do such, even in pre-pandemic times. For us able bodied, being limited to online is painful. To those who are disabled and without internet, that becomes a godsend, as they reach out to virtual worlds, socializing, and resources that they had never imaged were available. It comes down to perspective, now doesn't it.. smile. Thus, it is no biggie to me to wait till I am fully vaccinated. I am a youngish 60 and yes there will be other opportunities for all the social interaction I can take. That said, we should, in spite of our frustrations and desire to get back into that flow, be patient. Many who contact me want to sight see or do other activities but... It is really like playing Russian Roulette... especially with variants out there: It is completely possible to get a vaccine and until it truly kicks in, you can get this virus. "Based on a Washington Post analysis of data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, The Post estimates about 21,000 of 470,000 people who tested positive for coronavirus for the week ended Sunday already had their first dose. Michigan, where cases have been rising sharply with the rise of highly transmissible variants, accounts for about a tenth of that estimate." The title of that article in The Washington Post, says it well: Those who got covid between vaccine doses urge caution: ’We were so close’ https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2021/04/23/getting-covid-after-vaccine/
  15. This is the vaccine they are offering. It is not Sinovac and is completely different. It is a one time dose. Only similarity is they are both from China. https://fortune.com/2021/02/09/china-covid-vaccine-single-dose-cansino-johnson-johnson/
  16. NOB they book both appts Dose 1 and 2, when you make your initial appt. After selecting the first dose, a second page appears, asking you to select the second dose. On your first dose you also receive the official form of documentation is the small white vaccination record card, issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which you receive after your first shot. That records the lot numbers as well.
  17. There are clusters of appointments with no matter whom you choose. Plentiful in both the Walgreens and Moderna vacs. It seems the ticket to getting vac'd and then knowing when to return for a second dose. I have been messaged by a surprising number of people whom drove in and accomplished this. Thank you for that, as It will make my trip so much easier, due to additional info you've taken the time to share!
  18. Burning of the fields has begun. That is the smoke.
  19. Due to lack of driving buddies, I have decided to take a flight in/ out (same day/direct flight from Guad to US. Very low cost. All vacs available including J&J. Logistics completely worked out. Vaccination site is near the airport, as is an amazon locker hub to pick up a few goodies. Travel buddy not required for this, but others are welcome to join me. If interested PM me... Maybe I can help someone out as I have worked out all the details. DONE.
  20. Bateman, Azucena legalabc@yahoo.com.mx 376-766-1654 handled terminations for us
  21. Just another case of eager to go green, so the green is not affected! https://www.nytimes.com/2020/05/08/world/americas/mexico-coronavirus-count.html https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-03-27/mexico-says-excess-deaths-in-2020-21-have-exceeded-417-000
  22. Speaking of packages that are shipped from the US, via DHL or FedEx, and then somehow turned over to Correo de Mexico even though the seller believed the entire shipping for that package would be in the hands of DHL or FedEx.
  23. Somehow I do not think this was destroyed. View item on Mercado Libre.. lol.. for an obscene price too.. wow... Over 10K pesos! And I had two more items that suddenly appeared on the same website within a month of hitting the border/customs... hmmm!
  24. After doing more research, the difference is explained: Packages that are handled by FedEx and DHL and not handed over to the Correo de Mexico, have passed through without this happening in the past. It appears DHL even though the seller paid for Global delivery solely by DHL, did not receive that service. All the other packages were delivered via DHL or FedEx and even though it took approx 5 weeks to arrive, they at least arrived without these other complications!
