Please people, this is not a joke. I screwed up something and need to give the correct information, but I deleted all the PMs. This is important. Thank you. -
Competent and compassionate doctor needed
Eric Blair replied to dealerdave's topic in Ajijic/Chapala/Guadalajara
I vote also for Dr. Sam. I had a terrible experience with one "specialist" at Ajijic hospital 2 years ago. I was told he spoke conversational English; HE DIDN'T. I had a single question about a fluoroscope and what it will visualize. It was a simple "Yes" or "No" question. I asked the question and he pulled out a model or arteries that showed how plaque is formed. I said I knew all that and slowly repeated my question. He still didn't understand. I paid $500.00 ( even though the board at the desk said $400.00 and left. -
SPANISH VERSION BELOW Maybe you can give me a suggestion. I have a large mylar model of Star Trek U.S.S. Enterprise. It is custom made. I just talked to the tech representative that worked with me to make the model. The model is 4' H and 7.5 ' long. It will be tethered to a truck on a 25' cable. ] The 5 seams are rated for a specific internal pressure, with a 10% margin of safety and guarantee. My problem is that a mix of 20-25% oxygen will require additional mix that will not assist in the lift. More important is that a 20-25% increase in mixed gases could separate the seams, and that would not be covered by the guarantee. This is why I need a purity of 99+% But I don't know how much/many tanks I would need to get the lift. Any help/suggestions you have will be appreciated. Thanks. Gracias.

For some people learning another language is easy, for others, it's not. Then there are those who simply can not learn it due to some "issue." I am very hard-of-hearing and have been for decades. This more than slightly impacts my ability to learn Spanish. I know enough to get my ideas across, but have to rely heavily on "Si, no," and pointing to understand. Sometimes I use my cell phone translator, but that's slow and not always accurate. I do agree however, that people who won't even try to learn the native language will have self-induced problems.

I was speaking of Mexico not to United States. There is a reality here in Mexico, or at least Lakeside, and that is Gringos are looked at as cash cows, and they will be milked for everything possible. That is my opinion based on my experiences during the 18 years I have lived here.

Even the "high" costs her for medical attention, dwarf many places in the U.S. if you don't have insurance. Medical bankruptcies are at record numbers in the U.S. Some hospitals have even asked to see the deed to the patient's house. No s**t.

BACKGROUND When I arrived here 19-years ago, I “discovered” Open Circle and went to some presentations. I thought that it would be it would also be nice to have something more interactive. I met Susan Freud, a smart lady, and we talked about having panel discussions. The idea was to have a topic and a panel of “Experts.” The format would vary but the idea would be for a topic to be presented, and then members of the audience would query a panel member on his/her input. Our panel members, depending on the subject, included Rabbi Philip Posner, Sabrina Hood, a reporter from the Guadalajara Reporter and others. Depending on the subject matter, the panel members would include an ethicist, someone in the medical field, and an “average” Joe or Jane from the community. We got the Nueva Posada to let us use their indoor dining area. There was a $20.00(that's pesos) fee which went 100% to Nueva Posada which provided coffee and Tea. I don’t recall all the topics, I think we did 4 or 5 before Susan left. I recall four specific topics: 1. “THEY SHOOT HORSES, DON’T THEY? 2. THE CASE FOR ASSISTED SUICIDE.” 3. “SENIOR SEX, USE IT TO LOSE IT.” 4. “THE ARAB ISRALI DISPUTE FROM A DIFFERENT SET OF EYES.” The Chapala Reporter gave us free coverage. The turnouts were great. One was SRO - -Really. CURRENTLY WHAT I’M ASKING/LOOKING FOR. I would like a Co-Moderator, a lady, to work with me putting the panels together. The moderators would get the panel members, arrange a venue, maybe LCS or N.P.( again). The moderators would each make a statement on the subject matter, sort of prime the audience. Then maybe a short break and audience members can either ask questions directly or submit then in writing (identities not shown). Of course COVID protocols would be in place, 100% Anyone interested please PM me and say why you would like to co-host; why you think you would be good, and your availability. We can do most everything by emails. There will be no cash outlay. If there are costs, I will pay them and not take reimbursement. Suggestions will be appreciated and considered. Snarky, nasty comments from those who need the attention, will be ignored. Thanks in advance.

Now that I bought a membership, I figured better deal might be a shopping service, depending on how much/many items we want.
-
I agree. They don't want customers to go away unhappy because something was "out of stock." They probably don't want people to buy a lot and resell them at a higher cost.

I love it. My kind of "Granny."

I have been with MultiVa for mucho years. My big problem is that I can sometimes use my debit card online (Mercado Libre) and sometimes it gets rejected. Also, can I get my SS deposited directly into a Mx bank? I never heard that. If I can, that might be a better deal for me. What does anyone know on the SS direct sdeposit? Thanks.

I know LaBodege has an open mic and I think one other place. I know Open Circle has a variety of presenters. My question: Is only singing allowed, or can a comic, or storyteller etc. "perform"? Snarky, non-relevant, "I want attention" comments by PM please.

I want a bag of special dog food delivered to Azapan, Alta Jalisxo 49400. The ad says delivery free. This is across Lake Chapala (from the Chapala side) and a 45 minute drive from Joco. I don't see anything about any extra charge for distance. Has anyone had any issues on far-away deliveries? Thanks.

Cost of CT scan locally as opposed to in Guadalajara.

Also, remember that here there is no real accountability for medical errors other than an apology for the inconvenience to you or in some cases, your survivors. -
If anyone here doesn't have outside insurnce and thinks it's OK because we are just a 3-hour flight from the U.S., PM me for my experince.

Chillin; I was looking for a CT scan which can find a major lesion. This is totally non-invasive, but is not as accurate as a P.C.I. You are speaking of a P.C.I. (formerly "Angioplasty"). I recently learned the hard wt why there is little to no accountability for doctors in Mexico. I will check out Dr. Hector. IMO, always best to have a second opinion anyplace. Thanks for your input.
