  2. Thanks everyone! I knew I could count on good advice here.
  3. I said there is a lack of good Mexican food in Ajijic because the majority of the many restaurants here cater to diners from NOB. This is not my favorite food. I love Teocintle before rush hour, after which when one needs a reservation or earplugs. Memo is also one of my favorites. Chile Verde is not open in the evenings last I checked. Bad reviews of El Sombrero. I was specifically asking for recommendations in Chapala. Thank you RVGringo.
  4. Hello gastro experts. Any recommendations for good restaurants in Chapala, preferably Mexican cuisine, there being a lack of these in Ajijic.
  5. But yes, an hour is probably cutting a bit close. Maybe possible, but any little delay would make it tense
  6. There is an immigration booth right near the gates for departure. It really didn't take much time. Be careful asking for info. Everyone will tell you something different. The first time I did it I was walking all over the *#&^$airport. Finally found someone and the immigration booth was right near the boarding gates. Sorry I don't remember which gates, but they were where all the international flights left from.
  7. Yes. Just did one yesterday. Very convenient
  8. Also a bad crown/bad impression. She didn't even do the work, I think it was her brother who worked there when she was on maternity leave. I haven't been back.
  9. Need some help. My good friend's wallet was either lost or stolen. Good news: no credit cards. Bad news: Mexican (and Canadian) driver's license and Inapam card. Does she have to go to Guadalajara to replace the driver's license? Can she go to the DIF in Chapala to replace the Inapam? Thanks in advance for any useful info.
  10. The number I have is for Jorge- delivers on Mondays- 5515102855. I just moved and tried to get him for last Monday, no luck. Hope I suggest next Monday I was told he speaks some English, but he only spoke Spanish when I called last week.
  11. I bought 2 Hampton Bay fans at Home Depot. The Home Decor store in Riberas was charging 400-800 pesos more for the same fans. Rubén from the Home Decor shop installed both for 300 pesos each.
  12. How difficult/expensive is it to install a UV filter?
  13. Hello Kim, I sent you a message with some observations and another new facility.
  14. My husband and I have our residente temporal and got Seguro Popular
  15. Hello bdmowers

I just moved to this area one month ago. My daughter, a weaver, is visiting in September and wants to buy some yarn (natural fibers) to take back. She spent last Christmas in Oaxaca and has made some lovely bags with the wool she bought there. However, since she will only be here one week, she doesn't want to make the long trek south.

Since I know nothing about the area yet, I was wondering if you could give me some ideas before she gets here. I am a weaver as well, but had to leave my looms behind. Hoping to do some card weaving as soon as I get settled.

    Thanks

Mopsy, I just saw this. I didn`t want you to think I saw this and didn`t reply.  If you still need anything fiber wise, let me know.
