I am still on step one: "Name change on the account"... Ball is in property manager's court... Step two: Install solar...

It is a joke Natasha...

We are presently living with 5000+ CFE bills for the two month period... We got rid of our second refrigerator that came with the house and our billings dropped 1000 pesos...We are prime candidates for solar HOWEVER, in 6 months we have not been able to get CFE to put the account in our name... First they wanted a copy of our deed, Then our RFC, then the Constantia de Situation Fiscal... We provided all that but since we have two meters, CFE needs to have them combined... This week's to do list... THEN we will apply for a solar system meter which probably will be another fiasco... Having lived here previously, we know that there is not a spanish translation for customer service so we go with the flow...

There is also the fact that some do not think it is none of your business which way they are turning.....

I have to say that MOST drivers here show more curtesy than those in the Dallas metro area... That said, watch your mirrors... -
Agree with sm1mx, Nyah provides excellent customer service..

The Guad Reporter has their new location 107 Hidalgo Riberas... Phone: 376 7666148, email: ventasa@opiere.com The map shown shows their location is across the street from ORMA auto parts...

Perhaps by 2030 someone in the planning department will require that all buildings provide parking for X number of cars based on occupancy... Now for another shot of Tequilla to make that one work...

Be aware of doing business with ATT in Ajijic

Ana was very helpful in getting us up and running when we returned to Ajijic... She could use some additional help to handle the large number of customers that treck to her door...If she was doing something wrong there would be less traffic... People vote with their wallet... -
Timing is everything... Going from Rancho del Oro to Chapala can take 25 minutes or an hour depending on the time of day... I have found that leaving at 8:25am will get you there in a short time even on market day... Coming back around noon one should pack a lunch...

Purchase of real estate - closing costs
rvanparys replied to EldonNova's topic in Ajijic/Chapala/Guadalajara
We purchased our home without a realtor and the cost was 2.3% of the selling price plus $400 USD representing 1/2 of the attorney fees... For ball park figuring with a realtor figure 10% of the selling price... -
Stop the Loud, Frightening Noise
rvanparys replied to Melody Hancock's topic in Ajijic/Chapala/Guadalajara
After a 2 year hiatis we returned to Ajijic... Things are much quieter than when we left...The loud music from the local events establishment is muted and only the tequila lubricated impresario’s voice rings through... -
Suggest a month due dilligent trip to answer your questions...The two big deal killers IMO are traffic and noise... Jim Bowie is spot on... You need boots on the ground and time to discover your perfect location...

Jose recently did an install of a railing on our veranda... Excellent work and at a very fair price...
-
We recently ate there and found the food OK but not worth the price paid... We sat on the patio which was a fly catcher so that may have tainted our thoughts... We normally give a place two tries before adding them to our list eating establishments we recommed to people we don't particularly like...

Excellent condition... 54" round pedestal table with 6 upholstered and leather chairs... Asking $600 USD... If you are looking for an upscale dining set, you should check this out...

On any project if one does not have all project monies identified before starting and a 15% cost overrun included, don't start!

We have TelMex fiber in Rancho del Oro... Last month we were out 22 days...The problem was a broken fiber optic cable that was buried... I can't see how that happened but since this was the third "fix it" for the fiber we opted to pick up Total Play... While we now have constant internet we still get buffering at 4:30 each day on Fox News...
