Do you think paying people more will improve service?

Telmex fiber optic internet down?
rvanparys replied to Mostlylost's topic in Ajijic/Chapala/Guadalajara
I have not had an outage since I purchased Total Play as backup to TelMex...Redundancy is a practical solution to poor service... -
I am sure that you will find the weather here a large bonus...Your life style will most likely improve as the cost of living is reasonable... We are Ajijic returnees having lived here for four years and then returning to the US... We came back for the weather and a better life style... I would recommend spending a number of months here and check out the various communities... As mentioned above, Tom Barsanti is an excellent person to speak with buying a house or not... You will find that things are a bit different here but if you are open minded, have a sense of humor, and not time driven, you will find it most wonderful place to live...

Information provided above is spot on... Easy but time of return will vary... It took about 4 weeks for mine to come back... FYI: The FedEx office in Ajijic does not sell the return labels... I used I mail and that worked...

I need to have my signature witnessed by a Notary... This is for an insurance policy and has nothing to do with Mexican law... I was quoted by Notario 3 that the cost would be $1600 USD for 20 signatures... This is 60% more than the embassy charges... An on-line notary is not acceptable in this case.. Can anyone recommend a more frugal solution or recommend another Notario... Notario #5 who we have used in the past has retired... Gracias...

S&S refered me to Escalara years ago and I have found them honest and provide excellent service... -
While city beautification is a nicety, parking is a requirement... Chapala desperately needs more on street parking and maybe parking meters to discourage long term occupancy... This is a win for the city ($) and a win for shoppers... Before you respond, let me say that I hate parking meters as much as many of you do...However, if you have a better solution speak up.

No problems here.... TelMex and Total Play... Cheap enough to carry both...

Those who come to Mexico and have not done their due dilligence should not expect the gingo community to bail them out... There are many other worthwhile charities who will graciously accept your contributions...

Ibarra is spot on... This should be end of story...

Gas dryers require venting... To not do so places your health and safety at risk... These are NOB rules that may or may not be applicable here...I wouldn't take the chance...

RATES(HOURLY/DAILY/DESTINATION) charged by drivers
rvanparys replied to Apachewoman's topic in Ajijic/Chapala/Guadalajara
I pay 600 pesos to the airport... I have used our driver for over 5years... always on time and there when we land... This is a bit higher but with inflation and higher gas our fee covers it... -
Just washed the car! Rats!!!

Since it is a legal well, there should be an official report on the water quality. Or is the test "Si the water is wet?"

Having three, four legged children I can identify... Eating al-freso where someone has a well minded pet certainly doesn't bother me... Pets in restaraunts are the norm in many European countries..

The idea of posting here is to alert people to his new presence on the west side .

I am still on step one: "Name change on the account"... Ball is in property manager's court... Step two: Install solar...

It is a joke Natasha...

We are presently living with 5000+ CFE bills for the two month period... We got rid of our second refrigerator that came with the house and our billings dropped 1000 pesos...We are prime candidates for solar HOWEVER, in 6 months we have not been able to get CFE to put the account in our name... First they wanted a copy of our deed, Then our RFC, then the Constantia de Situation Fiscal... We provided all that but since we have two meters, CFE needs to have them combined... This week's to do list... THEN we will apply for a solar system meter which probably will be another fiasco... Having lived here previously, we know that there is not a spanish translation for customer service so we go with the flow...

There is also the fact that some do not think it is none of your business which way they are turning.....

Please stop ignoring traffic "DO NOT" signs

I have to say that MOST drivers here show more curtesy than those in the Dallas metro area... That said, watch your mirrors...
