  1. Thanks to all. Hope to return in the afternoon if possible.
  2. Hi: Could anyone please tell me the current price for getting a taxi at the lobby kiosk in Guadalajara Airport to Ajijic? Thank you !
  3. Actually the discount ended in January. I went in early February and did not receive the discount, thinking also that it extended into February. . You just need to show them your Tarjeta de Circulaccion. I also took last year's receipt, but they did not look at it.
  4. about 10 yrs ago, went with a friend to Soriana's to purchase a simple window unit ( looked like the old ones in the US). Have no idea if they still carry them, but they were over to the right side of the store by appliances.
  5. I would go for Los Tres Butchery, before Tel Mex on that service road.
  6. Have seen them at Todo Bueno consignment shop in Riberas.
  7. I think the place on Colon is called "Electrico Domestico" and most workers speak English there. If you go around the corner from Plaza Montana, it is on the first block of Colon, on the right walking toward the mountains. Yes, parking is really difficult there. If you live in the Chapala area, there is another one is on the 200 block of Lopez Cotilla. I had them replace the electrical card in the microwave and cost about 800 p to fix about 6 yrs ago. See if they can fix it before buying brand new, IMO !
  8. Cannot answer about Multiva's online hours for business tranactions. Ask them at 376-766-0912. However, I just found out from them that the Federal tax rate on investments for this year is 0.50%
  9. Sorry to hear, Carnivore, since the ribs used to be the best thing on Adelitas' menu, IMO ! We even used to order it for delivery and it was always great. When your best dish on your menu goes that downhill, you have some issues !
  10. Last June we went to La Casita de Molcajete on the Chapala malecon and had an excellent molcajete -- the best we had had Lakeside. In addition we both had free wine with our entree. Again, that was 7 months ago, so I don't know anything about possible change in ownership or management since then.
  11. Like the rain, but HATE the cold. I realize my blood has thinned in the past 12 yrs here, but recent surgeries have made me even less able to take the cold ( 12 kilos less weight).
  12. A couple of years ago it actually went all the way down to 0.08% Federal tax rate, but I have not kept up with the rate. I need to ask Juan.
  13. Have you tried El Granero, across the street from Ajijic Hospital? We get ours from them.
  14. That is unfortunate to hear. Always have liked Adelitas as one of my favorite restaurants here. My last two or three visits, I noticed a change in the attitude, to the negative, of some of the waiters. Maybe they do need more managing !! Maybe someone needs to point this out to management, if anyone on the Board knows them.
  15. Think Dra Justina Lopez primarily uses stems cells, and have heard good success for knees, especially. Her number is 376-766-5563. Regarding PRP's , which is totally different from stem cell therapy, I had it done in my back about 8 yrs ago and it bought me about 3-4 months of comfort and that was about it. It was with a doctor in Guad, at Salutaris Medical Center, but I would not recommend him. However, he did not use any imaging or fluoroscope, which I think would have a higher success rate. My sister had that type of PRP for torn miniscus up in the States and it has really worked for her. So, I think a targeted use of PRP with the above mentioned targeting tools might work better.
  16. I am surprised that MX ownership of autos has increased, given the price of gasoline here (the affordability issue.) That is why I can understand the motor bikes as a more common use of transportation, although I wish they would follow rules of the road more carefully ( like ignoring red lights). I am surprised we do not see more fatalities from that!
  17. Interesting on Pete's response. We have the Amigo plan, 100 p per two month for use in MX. When we go to the States ( I THINK the same is true for Canada-- other than using different country code prefix) and purchase a Sin Limite plan for our stay while there. However, Sin Limite is unreliable and I would guess that only about 50% of the calls made go through. This also allows you to call US numbers while there, and think the same would be true for being in Canada on Sin Limite.
  18. I first went last Friday to pay my bill and they said I could not pay because their printer to print the factura ( receipt) was not working. Then I called before I went on Monday morning and they said it was working, so I went then and paid without any line. So, I learned to call them first before going.
  19. What is the current Federal tax rate taken out of investments in MX? Thank you.
  20. I believe the person who forgot to liquidate my funds at Actinver to pay the surgeons fee is now their manager. What is that about the Peter Principle being alive and well ?!!
  21. Dan, most of our accounts in the Casa del Bolsa are getting over 11%. What is great about that is that it is liquid money. Previously, we had to do one year bank notes to get that percentage at Multiva. So, now just keeping the money in the Multisi and MVJER funds are doing just as well. Check it out with Juan Duran at Multiva, Casa del Bolsa. He was there when Laurie was there, but has stepped up his performance a lot. I find his competence to be very responsive to my requests when I need transfers to the bank to withdraw. I don't know what happened to the previous bank representatives, but find it has had no impact on us. BTW, we pulled everything out of Actinver five years ago when they forgot to liquidate some funds after my specific request for a transfer of that money, when I was trying to use that money to pay a surgeon's bill.
  22. Don't think gringos will receive the 50% discount unless they have Mexican citizenry. Go for the 15% discount, instead.
  23. To confirm what SM1MEX said, I called SIMAPA today and they said their system was "down" at about 2:15 pm but she then said it would be the same amount as 2023.
  24. Too bad that El Meditteraneo in Las Riberas does not deliver. They are my favorite, but would prefer a good carry out option as well.
  25. Sometimes when a new place opens, you don't get great food or service. Might still be worth others to try as time goes by and hopefully they get organized.
