  3. If you can only use new lane from Libramiento, how do you turn into Walmart ? Is there still a light to let you turn into Walmart from new lateral road? Is the old section closed? Need to go to Walmart early tomorrow coming from Libramiento.
  4. The helicopter has been dumping water on several fires very high up for around an hour. The wind seems to be hampering putting the fires out as when they drop the water, the wind is blowing it away from the fire. Hopefully, the wind will die down shortly and the pilots will adjust to this obstacle. There are still many fires to be put out. Last night was a little more calm around our house, though, as the fires seem to be under control a little lower than they were the night before. Now if someone would just turn off the wind machine!
  5. The helicopter just started getting water out of the Hotsson hotel extended stay pool. They have made several trips so far.
  6. We have seen the helicopter a couple of times lately but haven't seen them dump any water. There is still a lot of smoke. And...where there's smoke... there's fire.

  8. Excerpts : "While the moon’s shadow will first appear 370 miles off the west coast of Mexico, Mazatlán will be the first region of the mainland to experience totality, according to Space.com. The shadow will cross Mexico in 25 minutes, passing Durango, Torreón and Monclova as it heads northeast, crossing the U.S. border at about 1:32 p.m. Central Time." "The April 8, 2024, total solar eclipse will begin over the South Pacific Ocean and will cross North America, passing over Mexico, United States, and Canada. Weather permitting, the first location in continental North America that will experience totality is Mexico’s Pacific coast at around 11:07 a.m. PDT." 9. A lot of smoke this morning but no visible fires.
  10. I found these suggestions online that use items most have in their homes: 1.Make a pinhole projector simply by poking a hole in a piece of paper or cardboard, holding it in the path of the sun, and looking down at the ground or any other surface, rather than up at the sun. The point of light that comes through the hole will instead be a crescent, precisely capturing the amount of the sun that is missing at the moment you view it. A colander can achieve the same effect, and in this case will produce a whole spangle of crescents. 2.You can even use the holes in a straw hat to project numerous small images of the eclipsed sun. In a similar vein, you could try using a colander to project multiple eclipse images. And even the holes found on a Saltine or Ritz cracker will suffice to provide a view of the eclipse. 3.Use your hands. Hold both hands with your fingers overlapping at right angles. The holes between your fingers make pinholes, forming images of the Sun on the ground. 4.Use a colander. A colander, with its many holes, will give you fantastic, multiple images of the sun. Simply hold it about 20" above the ground. The images will look even better if you cast them onto a white piece of paper or sheet.
  11. There are many small fires, more than last night. There are many fires now on a different part of the mountain which are actually closer to Brisas. Haven't heard the helicopter for several hours. Smoke is bad so we have our house all closed up. We are assuming that if the fires get really close that the fire trucks will be able to come here and help manage so they don't spread.
  12. Enlarge and you can see red bucket getting water out of hotel pool
  13. The fires are very visible from our house now, we are near entrance to Brisas. Still quite a ways away but moving fast. Helicopter is getting water again from hotel pool. The people in the helicopter are really working hard.
  14. Update. Water is being sent to lower part of Brisas to continually fill a few pools that the bomberos are able to use.
  15. Bomberos have asked for GPS locations of those with pools in Brisas to see if any of them may be reached by helicopter safely. Pool behind us is empty, power lines are buried so no obstacle for the helicopter.
  16. The helicopter is getting water out of the pool in the extended stay units behind Hotsson hotel. Residents with pools in Brisas have volunteered water but too many power lines involved.
  17. Wind is really blowing and fire spreading, coming down the mountain nearing the valley below. The valley then Brisas. Helicopter over our house all morning.
  18. They have to if they don't want an entire neighborhood to go up in smoke.
  19. Fire is still blazing just not as bad as the winds have died down. The helicopter worked all night dropping water onto the fire. We hope the winds are calm today and maybe, hopefully, the fire will be put out completely.
  20. Of course you have to register in AZ. Just not annually. Everyone should check what the regulations are for their state for overseas voting.
  21. We have received a WhatsApp message from a Board member to be prepared to evacuate if fire gets any closer to Brisas de Chapala .
  22. There has been a fire raging since yesterday. Huge flames visible during the night from Brisas de Chapala. We have been watching a helicopter drop water on it all day. Our Administrator at Brisas was told by bomberos that they need donations of food and drink for all of the many volunteers helping to put this ever growing fire out.
  23. I don't really care who you checked with. Arizona does NOT require that overseas voters register yearly. We are required to update our status every 4 years. We voted in the March primary, vote was counted and the primary should be certified soon. If you feel Arizona is in violation , please contact them:
  24. I have seen them at papeleria lakeside. And many choices from MercadoLibre. https://listado.mercadolibre.com.mx/cortador-de-papel#D[A:cortador de papel] And Amazon MX https://www.amazon.com.mx/s?k=cortador-de-papel%23D[A%3Acortador%20de%20papel]&__mk_es_MX=ÅMÅŽÕÑ&crid=1BTVEOKMW600&sprefix=cortador-de-papel+d+a+cortador+20de+20papel+%2Caps%2C133&ref=nb_sb_noss
