  1. I think I just understood Upfront's post and to whom he was responding, so thank you for those remarks.
  2. In any event, I have searched this board and that is how I got the maintenance service I now have that is not working out. The rates vary from 70 pesos and up and it changes as to whether or not they have their own equipment and what service they provide. I have my own equipment, but I an flexible. This is my second yard person. The first one would not show up half the time. This one is paid way more and not working out and I don't want to have to go into the details. I don't think I need to state how much I want to pay. I think that decision will be made depending on the service I am being offered and provided. Each person has different skills (landscaping, versus just cutting and edging, etc.). It is equally my understand that the rate varies depending on the location of the house and that is why I provided that information....so I am back to my original request. If you do not have a referral, no need to post.
  3. I do not understand what this sentence actually says or if this comment is addressed to me or someone else's post.
  4. Okay. Obviously, there are problems which I am experiencing, however, what would be helpful are referrals which is what I requesting in my original post.
  5. I have someone now (who is being well paid) who is unreliable and not doing what I need, so I'd appreciate some referrals. I know some people in my area overpay (the gringo rate) and I really don't want to do that.
  6. There are several old posts referencing Interior Designers. Anyone have any recent recommendations along with contact information?
  7. I have had the service for about two years and I find very few places really have good service, however, they have never disappointed me. I really like the system in the fact that the drop down menu offers all the options of what you could possibly want done with each item.
  8. No. They will accept packages, but remember they are in the US, so they will forward a package to you. I have had packages delivered that they send via Fedex, and that still has to go through customs, so I don't recommend you get medication this way. If you can find someone to bring it to you, it is really better.
  9. I have a bunch of books and unframed posters I would like to sell. What would be the best places to sell them? I already know about Beg, Barter. I was thinking of local shops. Upscale Resale has no place for displaying art and they only take books as donations.
  10. This is usually what my vendor does for me. No need to wait for CFE.
  11. Usually, the person who sells the gas can check that with a solution of soap and water, then perhaps can fix it.
  12. Did you wife express her dissatisfaction and asked for it to be corrected, and if so, what was the outcome?
  13. Well, this is discouraging as I just brought her pant alterations. Have you found someone better? If so, would you mind sharing the information with me?
  14. Yes. That was my point early. Best to start a separate topic for those who want to discuss real estate and currencies. This is about seamstresses.
  15. I would also like to know what the problems with her work were.
  16. This has really gotten off topic! My original question was about Rossy (this is how she spelled her name for me).
  17. I don't the poster said it was quoted in US prices. Probably he was just converting for the sake of explanation.
  18. None of my items are custom made. It's all alterations and very basic.
  19. I'd like to hear from people who use her services. I thought it was odd that the times I brought her work she was unable to give me a price.
  20. No one said anything about it being earth shattering. I mentioned it because it was a lack of response and correction to a simple item and it was not done. It is a small thing, but the point is, along with the other things, it adds up. I think the store is nice and the staff mostly helpful, but restaurant wise, it's disappointing.
  21. Also, several months ago I was in the bakery section and told him that one of the signs on the bakery items (in French) was misspelled. On another visit, I noticed it had not been corrected.
  22. Several months ago, I was talking with someone who trains and counsels restaurants. One comment stuck with me and it applied to Pancho's. You do not place cold items which need to remain cold next to hot items on a buffet and this was the case at Pancho's.
  23. Yes. A great response. Being open to improving versus defensiveness is professionalism. Anything else is immature and amateurish.
