hOW DID YOU MEET THE FINANCIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR RESIDENCY?
Not that it is any of your business but there are a lot of us who have been here a long time. We barely squeezed by the old requirements and system. When they first moved to the new immigration requirements we were grandfathered in if we applied for permanente then. We could never come close to qualifying today. We live comfortably and happily here — and are able to help those not as well off as we are.

This is neither the US or Canada. Only foreigners are paying the high rents, etc. I know some whose CFE bill is between 32 and 46 pesons. Comparisons with a NOB country is senseless. The maids who live in this area are the highest paid in Mexico.
Do you have a link to the site showing the pay rates for maids all over Mexico? If not, can you share your source for this information?

Thursday is her usual closed day but last week she was opened on Thursday. I am guessing she is having holiday hours. Don’t give up!

Does this involve Tony?
Involves Tony only in the sense that Tomahawk is located in the building where Tony had his restaurant were before moving further east on that road which was before he died. The building was vacant for some time before Tomahawk moved in.

That closed some time ago and then this one opened.
No. They are not closed. When the new one opened we asked at the original and they said it was in addition to their place, not instead of. A friend ate there last week.

Nice pictures, but... this isn't Facebook or Instagram.
Imagine the nerve! Posting on a public web board beautiful photos of views most people never get to see! Think of the people who don’t want to see photos except on designated sites. 😤

We can as you suggest manage ourselves….it’s our GP in Florida that wants it spelled out and due to catch 22 scheduling difficulties….we would like to take an accurate translated set of bloodwork’test results with us
Check with doc and be sure they will accept translated results. A friend spent the money to have translations done here. Doc in the U.S. would not accept translations and all tests had to done again up there.

I pay online with a US bank credit card.
Thanks. I will check into that. I had been told you needed a Mexican bank card.

Can anyone really forget Jeffrey… He was one of a kind… Personally I miss both Jeffrey and Cafe Magana .
You either “got” him or you didn’t. I got him — and his food. He was (and probably still is) a real character. I will never forget his hand printed signs all over the women’s bathroom. Some people were very insulted by them. They cracked me up. Every time he had to clean up an overflow because some dumbass thought she was special and could flush her toilet paper there’d be another sign. They started off politely asking and each one grew increasingly angry and profane.

It might be. It might not. It’s TelMex. One time I drove to the office in Ajijic to pay my bill on the day it was due. When I came home the bill was in my mailbox. I have received the bill early, late, and not at all. As I said, it’s TelMex. If you have a Mexican bank account you can pay on line. I have a friend with a Mexican bank account. When the bill is due and has not arrived by mail she will pay my bill on line and I give her cash.

I would agree but people who are not helpful don't have to be rude about it. The problem lies in that they have nothing better to do. I'm glad I've been getting helpful answers because it's make those unhelpful answers somewhat tolerable.
You have no control over how people respond to you on the board or in real life. You are in control of how you respond. If you do relocate to this area you will find, along with the wonders and delights, a fair amount of things you do not like and will not want. How you react to them will determine your happiness or unhappiness here.

Yes I have visited, no need to be snarky. If you have nothing better to do than to make assumptions about people you don't know, go find some friends.
This board is like the lakeside community as a whole. You will find people you like and people you don’t like, people who are helpful to you and people who are not, people who rub you right or those who rub you wrong. The quality of your experience on this board and in this community depends upon how you react to all these folks.

Okay. But those of you who signed up for izzi or totalplay a while back and signed a one year contract, did you need to renew your contract every single year? Because now I'm thinking, once you use it for at least one year... then there isn't any penalty to cancel anymore since you had it for minimum one year? Thus imagine you signed up for izzi three years ago. That would mean you could probably cancel any month right?
I just want to know the general on this.
It’s Mexico. There is no “general.” MostlyLost and Rick have given you good advice. No one here can tell you what the terms of your contract with Izzi are. The terms of other’s contracts here may or may not be the same as yours.

Xena in case you have not noticed I am not the gatekeepers for who comes and who goes, perhaps you should be directing your comment to the Mexican government
I look at Lakeside as a big melting pot, the good, the bad, and the ugly similar to any other community
I am asking you about your own posts which make no sense to me.

But would the "same kind" that have invaded Vancouver be OK
Seriously for Mexicans and "others" who rely on a income from rentals the future looks bleak. I have Mexican friends in Guadalajara who own "locals" and have had to significantly drop their price in order to retain their renters, times are tough
So, you are inviting Chinese communists from Vancouver to come on down? Why?

Most of the people at the U.S./Mexico border are not refugees. They want to enter the U.S. because they want economic benefits. If they are truly refugees, let them return to their countries of origin, and apply for refugee status.
You have no idea of how being a refugee works. Your ignorance is exhausting.

Please brush up on your international law. A minuscule number of the immigrants at the U.S. southern border are refugees. The rest want to go to the U.S. for economic reasons.
The U.S. does not welcome illegal immigrants. It is making allowances for refugees according to international law.

Canada welcomes immigrants but only well qualified one's need apply. Canada to welcome up to 390,000 in 2022. https://www.cicnews.com/2020/03/canada-to-welcome-up-to-390000-immigrants-in-2022-0313872.html#gs.174tin
What about illegal immigrants? Like the one's the U.S. is taking in at it's southern border. Send some transport down there and help out. Take them up north to make Canada their home and help them out with your wonderful social welfare programs.
The U.S. is not taking in illegal immigrants at its southern border. It is taking in some refugees according to international law.

Short answer.....NO !!
Once again, you are inferring and implying this dementia thing. And I´ll keep responding as long as you keep implying.
You are dealing with the master of using inferring, implying, and plausible deniability so good not even eagle-eyed Moderator2 could accuse MC of personal attacks. 😁

Any foreigner who says they are too poor to live in Mexico is too poor to be alive.
And, have no fear Harry, no one I know will be asking you for your charity. Also, I think you would likely be happier if you focused on your own life and worried less about how other people are living theirs and how much money they have.
