  1. Our RFC's are definitely accurate and correct. I have learned that apparently we were given a password/contraseña with it at the time but that was long ago, LOL. With the valid RFC and password, I should be able to do this from home using the link provided. Unfortunately, I have no idea where the password may be. So.....since I'm under 60 years of age, I'm being told I do require an appointment. I'm interested in checking out the Ocotlan office, though. It sounds like with or without an appointment, it should be pretty quick and easy so long as I have all of the requested documents to obtain this elusive "password."   2. Need to get our Constancia Fiscal from one of the SAT offices in GDL. Has anyone had personal experience with either location, recently? If so, can you please share your recommendation? I have the documents needed and will call for an appointment, was hoping to hear from someone who's been there to accomplish this task before calling the office that may be most efficient.   3. Recently saw a gorgeous pool that was done with a pool liner instead of tiles. We need to remove our current old tiles, put fresh cement and either new tiles or possibly this pool liner option. Does anyone know if there's a local or GDL company who offers this type of service? Thanks in advance. Val Jones.

  6. Although I love my 2021 iMac, I don't love that it is no longer compatible with the Apple external DVD/CD drive. I have one particular DVD that runs 2 hours that I need to get over to the newer iMac. Been dealing with Apple technicians for a couple of days now but it's getting pretty frustrating. Does anyone know if someone, locally, has the ability to take this DVD and copy the 2 hour video onto a thumb drive? If so, please share their contact information. Thanks in advance. Val Jones
  7. This problem continues to plague certain areas. My dear friend (Canadian) is there now trying to assist a friend who is suffering from some pretty serious health issues. She and I have had tremendous difficulty with communication using her iPhone and iPad the last few weeks. The service has been spotty and quite unreliable. This wasn't the problem when she arrived so it seems that whatever issues are happening there do have something to do with this current problem. Hopefully it will all be resolved quickly and fully. As most know, it's extremely important to choose a reputable Notary to ensure document(s) are legally and properly Notarized.   9. I thought the same. After calls late last night and first thing this morning, still no success. Finally, about 4 pm, I called again and the technician on the line did say the problem with CFE had been resolved and parts of Ajijic were back on-line. He did some trouble-shooting with me but no success. Happy to receive a call from a cheerful young lady asking if tomorrow morning at 10 am would be good for us to have an iLox technician visit our home. Will/would be great to have both TotalPlay and iLox available in the event one has an outage, we'll still have service. Salud, Val.
  10. Talked with 3 technicians yesterday (Monday) about 1:15 pm, they said they repaired the iLox problem and were waiting for CFE to return electricity to the affected area. I called iLox last night and was told the same thing and it would be up in an hour, jajajaja! Still out....... Grateful we contracted with TotalPlay on Friday due to the previous iLox outage they also blamed on CFE. I don't doubt CFE could be the culprit but someone in management with iLox really needs to work with CFE management to put a stop to this nonsense. Salud! Val Jones
  11. Grateful we contracted with TotalPlay last Friday due to frustration with iLox outages. They installed it Sat. morning and we're making it our primary internet provider since iLox is out, AGAIN!!! They are saying they've repaired the problem(s) but CFE is dragging their feet on re-connected electricity to the affected area of the initial damage. Either way, GRATEFUL to have at least one of internet providers working and working well. Hopefully iLox will be back on later today. Salud! Val Jones
  12. Seems we are going to need to remove the current (old) tiles in the lap pool and replace them with new ones. Has anyone does this recently and have recommendations for who does this work, well, and can provide contact information. Thanks for the help. Val Jones

  15. I recently learned the International School on the Libramiento owned by Lana has begun accepting students (I think) as young as Kindergarten age and goes through Secondaria. Her daughter, Lily, is one of the teachers. The facility is impressive and I've heard great things about students receiving a quality education. I also understand it's a bilingual school to ensure all students are proficient in English and Spanish. We've been here a good while and are happy to see more young families moving into the area. Now with multiple and more reliable high-speed internet, we are gaining great fun, young adults and kids. When you and/or they are ready for dance classes, we have 'em! Choices include classical ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, belly-dancing, afro-Brazilian and more. Salud! Val Jones.

  17. As our adult dance community continues to grow, we find our Adult Tap class diminishing as students progress into the Intermediate and Advanced Tap classes. So, anyone wanting to try out Tap dance classes? If so, join Robert (our great teacher) at the dance studio on the 3rd floor of Plaza Bougainvillea each Wednesday at Noon for a fun one hour class. Cost is $75 pesos. We have several pairs of "loaner" Tap shoes for new students to start with and help determine proper sizing when you wish to purchase your own shoes.   19. ARGH!!! 3:47 am this morning, my UPS's starting to beep/scream and the fans were no longer working. I got up, checked it wasn't just our house but the entire Barrio and called CFE. Was told it was a large outage and should be fixed within 4 hours. Fortunately within 30 minutes or so, it came back on. Good thing as this time of the year without any fans, it was HOT! Clearly, as more demand is placed on the current transformers and electrical lines, we will continue to see these problems. I've begged CFE for years to help us in the Barrio de San Sebastián. After much effort, petitions from fellow Mexican neighbors, we did get 2 smaller transformers to replace the one small transformer and have had fewer problems but especially during this time of high demand, we're struggling. Hopefully CFE will be willing and able to provide the electricity for our growing Ribera. Hope springs eternal. Val.

  22. I've been with the Mexican insurance company, GNP, for almost 20 years. Fortunately, I've only had to use it for a hip replacement and a foolish crash on a scooter (never again) that caused a break in my color bone and a couple of ribs. The hip replacement required meeting deductible and small co-pay but the scooter incident was an accident so it had no deductible and was covered 100%. I have been happy with the Agent and the coverage. Currently, my monthly premiums are about $220 USD. I pay for the full year, in advance. Salud! Val Jones
