Actually, it gets worse than that at the entrance to the newest TOLL Road going from Saltillo area to Monterrey. 18-wheelers block both lanes when turning right to access the Monterrey Toll, leaving us cars to endure more wait than the 57/58 congestion. Same happens again at the Toll that takes you across to the airport area in Monterrey. Its Terrible.

You can google as well as I can, but I will say that in 26 years of coming and going on 57 and 85 North and South at least 4 times every year (usually more) the number of 18-wheelers headed North on those 2 hwys and US 35 in Texas is just wall to wall since USMCA was signed. NAFTA was nothing compared to USMCA. The delays are just horrible in Mexico. And, they are destroying the hwys faster than they can be repaired. Travel it once and all your questions will be answered.

Coming down from Texas, through Laredo recently, the North bound sides of both 85 and 57 was 2 lane wall-to-wall for miles with 18-wheelers, both lanes. Cars could not get through. Can't go back that way any more, as last time it took 2 hours to go 1/2 mile in 2 different locations and the bridge was terrible. Any suggestions?

With all the investment in Mexico, Mexico appears to be headed toward being the new China. Ever paid attention to the number of 18-wheelers on the hwy headed North to the US.

All banks do not change their rate from the previous day to the current day at the same time. Some take longer to do that. That is why if you go early, there is a chance you get the rate from the previous day. From experience, noon and later seems to be the best time for us.

Not if it is a Visa or MC atm card ! We are never talking credit cards here, as that is a different animal. I have never had a Debit Card, only an atm card, as I believe the former is too dangerous to use. If you lose an atm card, no problem, but if you lose a debit or are robbed, problems. YMMD

No they are not ! They just don't know how to compute the rate. I always get just what Visa and MC tell me I will get, and that is because I know how to compute the rate I get.

17.6723 for atm Visa and 17.8252 for atm MC today.

Everyone gets the same, but many don't know how to figure it, so you will get different numbers from people. Some go early, some go late. some include the bank fee, some don't. It's unbelievable.

XE.com has Nothing to do with atm rates., nor do banks. Only MC and VISA ! Time of withdrawal is important, as if you go before noon, the bank may not have changed the rate from the day before and it could be lower (or higher) than today's rate.

It can vary, depending on if you use a MC or a Visa (atm card), but not a lot. MC and VISA set the RATE !!! The bank only sets the rate if you choose to let them do the conversion (big mistake).

Just interested in how much the bank charges to use their machine. I guess I didn't make myself clear. Actually 25- 50 is not definitive enough, nor is there a name of a bank (location). I'll try to be clearer next time.
