  4. A year or two ago, someone Lakeside was in the Golf Cart Rental business. Is he still around
  5. Harry is quite right but I'd like to add that money donated to the Lake Chapala Shrine Club is spent on transporting LOCAL children to one of our hospitals where they are treated, regardless of their ability to pay.
  6. We drove here from the Toronto area 3 weeks ago and the following worked: "If prompted for your ZIP code, just enter the three digits of your postal code plus two zeros. So for example, if your postal code is A2B 3C4, the 5 digit number you should enter is 23400" TRAVEL TIP: U.S. GAS PUMP CODE
  7. WHAT HAPPENS TO THE MONEY RAISED BY THE SHRINE CLUB ? Compared to Shrine Clubs in the U.S. and Canada, our Club is relatively small, but very active. Our biggest activity is helping lakeside children with medical problems, either at the Shriners Hospital in Mexico City or locally at Lakeside or in Guadalajara. Here are the statistics for our Shrine Club in 2017: Trips to Shriners Hospital in Mexico City - 71 Local examinations lakeside/Guadalajara - 80 Total …….. 151 Shrine Club Funds spent 2017…….$355,000 pesos* * Includes $51,100 pesos contributed by Niños Incapacitados ……………………………………………………. Statistics from 2006-2017: Patient family trips to the Shriner’s Hospital in Mexico City - 1,054 Local examinations for Patients Lakeside and Guadalajara - 771 Total Patients ………….. 1,825 Shrine Club funds spent……..$3,530,922 pesos The Lake Chapala Shrine Club pays for all of the family transportation costs to Mexico City and the child’s local medical expenses which amount to thousands of pesos each year. Your continued support at Shrine Club fundraisers is most appreciated. THANK YOU !!!

  12. Several years ago I had an GM Astro van that had a problem. The automatic sliding rear passenger door would occasionally almost close but suddenly slide open again. The GM dealer in Oshawa Ont. couldn't fix it and called in a "specialist" from Flint Michigan. He couldn't either. We drove it down here that winter and Jaime fixed it in an hour. Nuff said !
  13. I'd suggest that you talk to Roberto (Beto) at Hernandez - right beside Tony's. Get directions to Roberto's brother's auto electric shop in Chapala... near the train station. If it's electrical... Jaime can fix it. He speaks English....
  14. Are there any decent hotels/motels on the reasonably new, north S.L. Potosi Bypass (Hwy 490) ? ? ? ?
  15. Hernandez Llantera - right beside Tony's in S.A.T. Good English, good job and good price !
  16. Thanks Harry.... Glad you are on it... I was just typing a PM when you beat me to it. I'm sure we can assist. Shriners Hospital for Children - Mexico City
  17. Mike.... I wonder if this would be a good alternative for Mexico ? SkyRoam Solis
  18. Can someone tell me his age and preferably his date of birth? Maybe I should give you a little more info as to why I'm asking for the his age. I am a member of the Lake Chapala Shrine Club and our International Shriners Hospitals for Children treat children up to the age of 18 for Orthopaedic, Burn Care, Spinal Cord Injury and Cleft Lip and Palate treatment, regardless of their ability to pay. Our Mexico City Hospital may be able to help. See Shriners Hospitals for Children - Orthopaedics

I have one in Canada and one in Mexico for my Shaw Direct service. https://www.logitech.com/en-ca/product/harmony-remote-650 They are available at Best Buy in Mexico: https://www.bestbuy.com.mx/c/buscar-best-buy/buscar?query=harmony+650&autoFacet=true
  20. I'm told that blood pressure goes up with the elevation. I don't bake, but elevation affects baking time too - "someone said".....
