  1. I have used chiropractic successfully for years for different problems. But I wouldn't see Dr. Birch because he doesn't hold a license in Mexico. He hasn't done his service to the community/country and won't get my support. I want someone who has done things legally and done his service period like an honest person.
  2. For a bathroom, take you leashed dog with you. For a quick stop otherwise, park in the shade with the windows down a bit and hurry. Your large dog won't be stolen.
  3. Worship services are 10 am-1pm on Sundays. The Family History Center is open Wed and Thurs 10 am-12 every week.
  4. My representative is a co-signer on my account. Much better option than beneficiary.
  5. Nope. It's clearly abuse to your ears and sensibilities, but not to the dogs.
  6. You may want to include on your poster that your dog takes daily medication. If an unscrupulous person has your dog and thinks it might be sick, they will oft times return it for the reward. This worked for someone I know, otherwise she would have never gotten her dog back. He was lost in Riberas and a person had him in west Ajijic.
  7. Automatic 7 years in jail, is my understanding. Also goes for ammo. I had a friend that allowed someone to put a single dresser in with her furniture that was crossing the border. When being searched at the border, authorities found two rounds of ammo in the other person's dresser (owner of dresser didn't even know the ammo was there) and of course my friend was threatened with jail. Her broker, who was in trouble too, managed to get the authorities to agree to a large fine rather than jail time. No good deed goes unpunished, it seems.
  8. Don't mean to butt in but if you are a newbie here, your need for a dehumidifier mystifies me.  Perhaps if you asked how to solve a problem you have, such as a wet area that you want to dry out, etc.  you will get answers that are better suited to this area than a dehumidifier.  As soon as the rainy season stops, the humidity here will start dropping significantly.  Just trying to help and don't mean to interfere.

Yo1, thanks for the suggestion (certainly no offense taken, and yes, I'm a newbie), We returned from Canada after 5 months and discovered mould on nearly everything in our house despite having people check up on the house periodically and air it out and I'm just going to try several methods to ensure that doesn't happen again, only one of which will be an auto-draining dehumidifier, along with more and improved venting an whatever else I can come up with. It's a new house and last year I had the roof resealed (again), and found some more cracks in the roof as well as some of the old cracks opening up again. Certainly that made the moisture problems in the house worse, but I figure the less humidity in the house the better whether we're here or not in my opioion.

Good thought; seems you are headed in the right direction. A new house shouldn't leak.  If cracks keep opening in your roofing material, perhaps there is a problem deeper in the roof.  You may have to strip off everything down to the concrete, seal that &/or patch it, then seal the roof.  Good luck!

  9. I drove my car for 5 years in Mexico WITHOUT a sticker at all.  Long story short, I was told I could get it in Guadalajara.  As you found out, it's not possible.  Just drive it to the closest border and surrender your sticker as you should have in the first place.  This will take that car off the Aduana records and you will be OK to import another car.  Your new husband can also import a car in his name.  Maybe you could even import another car with your new married name and a new passport number.

  10. I'm interested in any info you have on treatments for veins.  Thanks so much--Pat

  11. Medicare fraud is outrageous in the US with the officials saying they can't afford to hire any more investigators because of the cost. So billions of dollars go to fraudulent providers while saving millions in employment costs. Imagine what the fraud rate would be in Mexico? That's part of the reason Medicare will never be accepted here.
  12. She's on vacation this week. Try calling Monday morning.
  13. I'm glad chapala.com is up and running again because I am anxious to get info from you about where you found this particular pump and who you found to install it for you?

It's exactly what I need but I didn't know about this kind of pump.

Thanks for any info you can pass along--Pat

  14. I have bought Katya for years. I call Chava on his cell 331 071 7007 he usually delivers in about 1/2 hour. 19 pesos
  15. MarkWebles--how can you not understand that if the CAM (complementary and alternative medicine) insurance company and the Swiss govt. ONLY pay for modalities that are efficacious, that there MIGHT be something to this type of treatment?
  16. Interesting article on Swiss govt. findings of homeopathy efficacy. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/dana-ullman/homeopathic-medicine-_b_1258607.html
  17. This article is hopelessly outdated. In the late 1990s and early 2000s I sat on the advisory board of the largest "alternative care insurance" company in the US. We regularly met to advise the insurance company of the efficacy of different "complimentay" medical modalities and advised whether or not the insurance should pay for these modalities. Homeopathy claims were routinely paid. As an aside--Reiki was not considered efficacious and claims were not paid.
  18. Many people have benefited from homeopathy without believing in it, so not a placebo in their case. Again, she didn't ask for anyone's opinion. In fact, she asked for private messages.
  19. Why post anything at all of this nature? OP didn't ask for anyone's opinion.
  20. Dr. Lastra has an anesthesiologist who sees patients with him who has a license to write prescriptions for opiates.
  21. Okey, dokey, I will email you. I cleaned my box out completely yesterday.
  22. I can't leave you a message either. Try my inbox again as I have cleaned it out. I have no idea where to find my "feed".
