  1. That map is great. It's easy to find. Drive on the main road into Ixtla., through the plaza. Continue one block, turn left. One block, left again. It's in the middle of the block on the left. I don't post on TOB, so if anyone wants to copy my first post over there, (and add to it or whatever), feel free. Full permission.
  2. I did that. The message is going via a friend, but since he has events, that would be perfect for him.
  3. MC, sorry, I don't have that info. I have a sample menu, but it's not on there or the Facebook page. Your best bet is to call. Salvatore, 333 507 0722
  4. My friend from Ixtla. was with me. She reluctantly switched over to other village restaurants... there aren't many, as you know. She's switching back to 5 Potrillos again. Has eaten there twice since I went, takes her own favorite wine like she used to - that was fine with Salvatore. Quite pleased with all the dishes she tried.
  5. It looks like Pancho's family doesn't have much to do with the restaurant now, other than perhaps leasing or renting the space. The tables and chairs are the same. When I was there, it was quite slow. It has a long way to go to rebuild clientele.
  6. Great news for fans of Los 5 Potrillos in Ixtlahuacán de los Membrillos. New manager, Salvadore; new menu, all food and drink stocked. It's been (re)opened for about 3 months. Salvadore impressed us with his hard work to turn this old favorite around. He's running a Sunday, all you can eat buffet, from 8:30 am to 1 pm. He's put a grill out in the dining room to display his cooking, in addition to the buffet. 80p adults, 50p for children under 12. He's putting in a pizza oven and will start offering pizzas around December 1st. He spent 15 years working at a pizza place in the States, so I'm looking forward to this. The prices are really reasonable, a lot of dishes 45 - 60p. Plates, for example, mole poblano, 60p. Burritos, 45p. He's planning a New Year's Eve party with mariachis. Lots of energy and creativity going into this, as you can see. I'm wishing him good luck. Have a lot of fond memories of this place. 7. My insurance agent explained that companies often create a generic RFC to fill out forms, especially for foreigners who don't have one. So the RFC numbers on my insurance forms weren't usable for other purposes, as Sonia explained. However, she also got a "real" RFC for me and gave it to me. Cedros, based on what we've learned out about many companies just filling out their internal forms with a number they make up for you, you probably be well advised to use the number you got yourself. From what we can deduce, many companies have to fill out forms and the old entry of "n/a" (not applicable) won't be accepted by their computer system.
  8. I found my RFC on my house insurance policy. So there's another option for you (if you have it).
  9. Thanks for the info. I am a current customer so went through the rigamarole and have the Canadian address and all. I've just never dealt directly with Shaw. There's an intermediary in Canada. Who I will check with. Thanks again.
  10. So, when I get a new receiver, do I need the company I originally bought the system from here to install it? Is it plug and play or is there a code to let Shaw Direct know it's my account? Somehow... Maybe a secret handshake. Or a decoder ring.
  11. Out of curiosity, what is the issue with dual receiver that makes it undesirable?
  12. Telmex landland phone is out in San Antonio.
  13. I can top that (maybe). Looked out during a torrential cloud burst during the rainy season, gardener was sheltered under the terraza roof, watering the flooded concrete in the yard. I'll give you the same advice a friend gave me, " Your gardener is sending you a message you are not hearing". The amount of pay is not the problem. For you, it's letting him decide what to do. If he is repeatedly off on his own horsing around, he needs supervision. A list every day. You must have acres of plants for that amount of time. Control what he's doing and you might look at cutting back the hours. If a list every day is onerous, once a week and review what he's doing off it every day. If there are plants that need hand watering, list them. Otherwise, no watering. None. Once you set the rules, you need to enforce them. You can do it without confrontation, but he's really taking advantage. Good luck. And fyi, I went through the nose bleed of properly firing She Waters Concrete in the Rain.
  14. Mike,

I asked about my location in SAT vis a vis the download speed.

I'm Cheri Ireland, at Privada La Paz 146. That's one block south of La Paz in SAT. The east side of SAT, on the last block before Riberias starts. Do you know if that's on a different box than the ppl who are getting better speed?

I've been told in the past that the problem is my distance from the server. I don't know if that's a catch all excuse.

    Thanks,

    Cheri

  15. Thanks much. I have some leads, so this helps a lot.
  16. I'm looking for someone to handle an estate sale for a friend. Any recommendations or referrals are appreciated. Tried to use the search function on the forum and it's not cooperating.
  17. Googling only turned up a company in Australia with this name. Is this a local service?
  18. I have a great personal trainer. I did a little write up for her last year. River (Rio) Norella. http://www.chapala.com/webboard/index.php?showtopic=48314&hl=fitness Very reasonable, knowledgeable and experienced... like over 20 years. Does house calls and will work around whatever equipment you have or don't have, in my case. Most of the "trainers" at local gyms have no experience beyond their own fitness training. Most have no experience adapting routines to personal needs. The situation is very different than NOB, where you might assume that trainers are available. The gym in Chapala doesn't have an English speaker, if that is an issue for you. Home phone 766-1411 cel: 331 177-0405 (leave message, teenager in charge of phone at the moment ) Edit: This cel number is current. The one in the post from last year is not good.
