  1. I used to know a husband and wife team that sprayed for a living. They both mysteriously died of cancer about at the same time 6 months or so apart in their early 60's. Now we know it was most likely the glyphosate.
  2. Rocks don't increase temperatures. Covering everything in asphalt and cement is what raises temperatures. That is one of the reasons our streets are cobblestoned, they are much cooler and allow proper water drainage apart from keeping traffic fairly slow through town.
  3. Yes I do. Look at the thread that was immediately closed that was started this morning. Hospital San Antonio Negative report. Every couple of days a newbie nobody starts a thread maligning Hospital San Antonio. The thread closed today, the 3 people posting were first timers with Spanish user names. Yes I think one newer hospital is playing a dirty war with the other more established and preferred hospital. It is so obvious.
  4. Lakeside7 you gave me a sad face emoji. If you are truly on this forum daily you would have noticed a pattern by now and the rift between the two fairly new hospitals. One appears to be playing dirty to get the gringo dollar. I am sure most long timers on this forum have noticed this by now.
  5. Could it be that another new hospital in the area is trying to malign and disparage the San Antonio Hospital? Because recently tons of new unknown users have been popping up recently talking junk about Hospital San Antonio in several threads.
  6. Hey weren't you asking about a lime tree recently? Why don't you just get that grafted lemon and lime tree they are selling at the vivero in San Antonio. I don't think they get that big. Anyways if you have to get a tree its always better to have one that produces something you like being either fruit, fragrance, or colorful flowers.
  7. Zeb, you can use google and type in your search and put chapala.com after it. And you will get better results. When the search engine is frustrating me I turn to google.
  8. They have it and Mr. Bull across the street sells charcoal too. Its always the burnt mesquite wood variety.
  9. They are successfully planting trees and small forests in certain parts of Greenland now thanks to climate change. Look for videos on You Tube.
  10. Interesting: First I check the forum and then I read the news. https://us.yahoo.com/news/greenland-hit-unusually-extensive-melting-110053363.html
  11. We got rain in Chapala last night. I would say we have been getting a decent rain every other night. Maybe it is less than last year. But we are definitely getting rain.
  12. I guess it depends on the well but in my 11 years here I have been told there is natural arsenic in the water here, how much I don't know exactly.
  13. If you have the money I would get a UV for the showers and bathrooms and kitchen sink. And get reverse osmosis for your drinking water. The thing about UV is that it just nukes the pathogens and amoebas but does not filter or remove anything. RO removes everything. I was reading recently that UV is recommended more if you have lake or river water and RO is better for well water. It gets out all the arsenic and heavy metals and god knows what else. In Chapala the municipal water doesn't come from the lake but from wells high in arsenic.
  14. Just ask the people who are installing your water purification system. I have read on this forum in years past that many people end up going to Gdl for that. Good luck.
  15. Are you looking to rent preferribly in Chapala or Ajijic? There is also San Antonio and Jocotepec.
  16. Oh it started, but recently it went temporarly on holiday. Hopefully it will be back soon.
  17. I saw a newish looking business lakeside of the carretera around Riberas I believe called the Croquetería. I took it that they made homemade dog food. But I could be wrong but Its worth checking out at least.
  18. What Gringohombre has just died? We have lost too many this year.
  19. Has anybody been there lately? I hear they are now under new management. I went there the other night and found the food to be really good. They have plenty of out door seating. And at least 25 flavors of wings to choose from. The staff is super attentive, one of the waiters grew up in the States but moved back down with family he is very friendly and attentive. If you went there years ago and wasn't impressed give them a second chance, it has made quite a turn around.
  20. Yeah I know about membrana on roofs but didn't relate it to a fabric but I guess it is.
  21. Not in Mexico. But I just basically have experience with our Mexican roof.
