  1. Mx news keeps telling people vaccines are NOT for sale in Mexico ..... so don't be dumb enough to fall for this scam. And shame on them!!
  2. Thanks to both. Know about the INAPAM card. Think I'll go to recaudadora..... access to the banks accepted is iffy at best for parking.
  3. When I renewed mine last October I paid at the Chapala Recaudadora and they automatically applied the Sr. discount. Now need to do for other half.... but if I can avoid that crowded place I will. Can anyone tell me for sure if the banks automatically do the same when you present your appt. papers? Please... no conjecture! Gracias
  4. I perhaps dind't make myself clear. Since I had NEVER had a CURP prior to being naturalized, in my case there was nothing to update..... and I didn't have to go to the new page at all. In HIS case, he had it 4 years prior. That's the only thing I can guess.
  5. Last night I got in with my CURP, but site said hubbie's was wrong. Finally went to CURP site and discovered (I guess) that while he had had his since 2002, it was done before we became Mx citizens. When I entered his "old" CURP, the site automatically updated to the "new" one they had given him at time of naturalization but never told us. So we've been using the "wrong" one for him ever since... including when getting INE cards, new Mx passports, driver's license, etc. ??? The only change in his new one is (apparently) one letter---- changing him from Male or Masculino to Hombre. Anyway, I used the new one and it worked.
  6. They will inform you by phone or email using the info you gave them when registering.
  7. Finally got as far as "checking your curp" this morning after doing the I'm not a robot, and clicking on the pictures with traffic lights. Did not suggest there was a problem. But it just kept trying to load. One hour ago I started over (immediate connection) but it is DETERMINED that my (and hubbie's CURP's are not correct. Yes they are!!! Anyone else encountering this? My stopped is set in private browsing. Any geeks know if this could be the problem?
  8. On Guad TV news this morning they had a clip of Lopez-Gatell (health guy from Mexico City) telling of how the OVERWHELMING response caused the site to totally crash. They're working on it. For me, it won't open this a.m. But he said all you can do is keep trying.... At least we are assured that age limits will (we hope) be respected.... from oldest and then descending age groups.
  9. This taken from global news.ca (on line edition): Prime MinisterTrudeau announced that Air Canada, WestJet, Sunwing and Air Transat have all agreed to cancel air services to “all Caribbean destinations and Mexico,” starting Sunday. The cancellations will continue until April 30, Trudeau added. They will be making arrangements with their customers who are currently on a trip in these regions to organize their return flights,” he said. Trudeau also announced a new mandatory PCR testing requirement at airports for people returning to Canada. He said that while these travellers wait for this COVID-19 test result, they’ll be forced to quarantine for up to three days at a designated hotel – on their own dime. Trudeau added that the cost for this is “expected to be more than $2,000.” “Those with negative test results will then be able to quarantine at home under significantly increased surveillance and enforcement,” Trudeau said. “Those with positive tests will be immediately required to quarantine in designated government facilities to make sure they’re not carrying variants of potential concern.” Meanwhile, the Public Health Agency of Canada said Friday the federal government is turning to private security firms to help enforce the 14-day mandatory quarantine and conduct in-person compliance visits.
  10. Totally agree. Doesn't answer why I got the mystery message. Guess I'll try the tried and true Mexican method..... ask the neighbours!! (Delivery person persists in putting thru garage doors and not front, so if dogs get to it first.........😫 ) On the other hand, maybe it was a form of phishing? In 22+ years we've always had 60-day billing so expect it to continue Thanks to all. I think we can say we're done here!
  11. OK... let me re-phrase this. I've NEVER been able to access---- months and months---- but that's not at issue. What I REALLY wanted to know is: Are we going to get monthly bills starting this current year, instead of the old 60-day system? Gracias
  12. I just got a notification on one of my email addresses that CFE bill is ready. I'm registered but the site WILL NOT work for me. Question is this: Odd time to get a notification. Usually our bi-monthly bills arrive approx. 15th----- starting in February. Has something changed? Gracias
  13. You do know that layover or not, you MUST quarantine in Canada upon arrival? Same as would apply if flying direct. And be sure you have filled out the info (see GoSolar) in advance or you will have a LONG delay on arrival!
  14. I see you're in Michoacán. Have never seen that brand in the Lakeside WM, but will look for it next time I'm in the store. Maybe only available in certain locations? Meow-chas gracias.
  15. I SO agree! But with as many animals as we have to feed, do health care, etc., I can't make the change so am making the best I can of what the bag offers.
  16. Then you might want to try the BOXED Arena Bob..... says it's "better" (forget the exact term used on the label) and I suspect is trying to compete with Scoop Away, etc. Only 6 or 6.5 kg, vs. 10 kg for the large bag, but at the price is still a lot more affordable than the imported ones. Also only available at Walmart. I'm not having the same issues as you most of the time. VERY well clumped this a.m. for overnight cleaning. Quien sabe?????
  17. Might be worth driving over there to check. As I read the new rules, gov't offices with "window" services (assume applies to clear barriers I've seen in some) MIGHT be allowed to stay open. ??? If not, suggest you carry around the paperwork you have relating to the appt. and if stopped, point out to the officer that you had an appt. but the red button made it impossible for you to appear. Would be interested in what you find.
  18. Add to that some nail polish remover on a cotton ball and easy-peasy.
  19. Best discount in January. Lesser in Feb. And yes, you can be ticketed if caught without the window sticker in place after April 1.
  20. I totally agree about flights, BUT personally would not be in an airport nor get on a plane even for a short flight these days.
  21. Guad news this a.m. showed several people being denied boarding access to flight to Toronto because they did not have "within 72 hours" CoV negative documents in hand. Didn't catch but assume was Mexico City since not aware of direct flights from here, but not sure. Some interviewed admitted they had been informed by airline of reg's in effect as of Jan 7 but "didn't have time" to get it done. Not important that all were Mexicans who apparently had come "home" for Christmas. These rules are universal, meant to protect Canadians at home, and ARE being strictly applied until further notice. So be warned!
  22. Guad news today said in order to avoid congestion, recaudadoras will open Saturdays 9 - 3 for paying vehicle 2021 fees. Not sure if Chapala will be 9 - 3, but probably at least 9- 2. Advantage is you get the documents etc. in hand there and then.
  23. I'm assuming you want a non-shared trip? In that case, factoring in the cost of toll roads round trip (car has to return even if you don't), cannot imagine you would get it for anywhere near $600 pesos
