  1. Many have recommended, but without Facebook I CANNOT figure out where this place is!  Will be in AJijic village tomorrow morning ( rare event) and would like to stop in if I can specifically pinpoint in advance. Parking in that area being what it is, not willing to spend a lot of time circling/searching.  Gracias!

  2. I use my Canadian Visa card on both Amazon U.S. and Amazon Mexico.  Orders on Mexican site as recently as 10 days ago no problem.  I DID however, have to have my Canadian bank change my billing address from the Canadian bank to iShop's point in Laredo because over 10 years  ago another site refused to complete the order if billing address and shipping address weren't both in the same country. At that time,  Amazon U.S.didn't care.  I don't think we even had Amazon Mx in those days.  Amazon DOES know I live in Mexico.

When I hit snags, I PHONE.  Amazon U.S. 001-206-922-0880    If the recording offers to call you back, don't accept. Their operators are NOT allowed to phone outside U.S. boundaries.   Amazon Mx  800-874-8725  (only Spanish)

Has anyone had radiation treatment ...... If so, what kind of results did you receive.  ......

With due respect,  all cancers are not equal nor are their stages when radiation is begun. Equally all patients are different. I've known survivors and those who didn't.  IMO there is no "blanket" answer to results received.

Whether you are the patient or this regards a loved on, heartfelt hopes for  the  positive.

  4. Fred you've certainly demonstrated to all your profound commitment  to " .... for better and for worse.... "    Because I've recently been a little more connected with you than some, in my heart I can answer "no, you didn't wait too long".

She's always made it clear she wants to die at home, with you holding her hand. At least having your daughter there will allow sharing of your heavy burden.  You've all suffered long enough. May she pass quickly and in peace.  🙏

I have an appointment at Casa nuestra on Monday but more suggestions would be very welcome.

Two very satisfied friends have had husbands (each until deceased)  in Ohana in San Juan Cosala.   Also a friend moved to El Chante Assisted Living, who knew she was nearing (difficult) end of life, and she passed there.  It is  lovely  and I suggest you check it out. This taken from google:

We live very near there.  They appear to run an excellent facility.  Recommend you get in touch.  And GOOD for you for accepting you need help. That's the most important step you can take 👍

  7. Lexy I know it's too late for you ( and I'm so sorry).

But as a warning to others..... (1) if you go to an ATM anywhere, only go during hours when armed guard is present.  (2)  IF the machine doesn't spit out the cash stay right there and call the guard over.  (3) Show him the receipt and that  it came out but money didn't.  (4) IF there are more ATM's where you're standing, and IF there's a person beside you using another one, draw their attention to your plight.  They can also tell the guard they saw no money.

That should give you a better leg to stand on.  🤞

  8. Or..... with the prediction of higher and higher temps each year from now going forward ( as if this one wasn't bad enough) you could do what we did and get RID of all grass! Why deplete a dimishing resource when there are options?

Neighbors and landlord LOVE our xeriscaped front now......and it's much easier to maintain too.

Rubber gloves and mask too. I could not find the ingredients for Solprac 3....... I suspect it contains muriatic acid.

Yes to rubber gloves, of course.  Mask totally not needed. "Suspect" all you want.... but here are the ingredients ( translated from bottle label):

Sulfuman ( which is hydrochloric acid.... and which sometimes  can contain traces of hydrogen fluoride), sodium benzene lauryl sulphate, fixing agent, scent, and color.    The sandpaper recommended by my plumber and also the ferreteria is nearly black, A-99  400 SIC.

I do agree.... try it on a small area first.  But I've never had a problem with it

  10. For layer of soap or ??? scum:  red liquid in 1 L  container. (rubber gloves!!!)    Limpiazulejo  Solprac 3   ( there are other forms---- must be THREE).  Cleans tile and grout like a darn.  Sometimes after you apply ( small paintbrush works well) and let sit for a bit, you can scrub it off with a stiff brush.  If not, sometimes you need a bit of  very fine sandpaper.  Tiles, grout, shower stalls. toilets and porcelain sinks ( mineral layer), etc.

I had to get my last bottle on Mercado Libre becasue the ferreteria in San Antonio ( by iShop) had a generic brand.  But I showed my new bottle to her (already knew it was the best from previous one) and she showed me on next visit she has it now too.

Who knows..... if you try this, you might not need to go any further 🤞

  11. You can already see that road with cobbles set in  cement all the way up to the "bridge" as you wait in the slow traffic ( speed bumps) heading downhill, starting at the new hospital on libramiento.  It's my understanding there will  be an underpass and at least a semi-cloverleaf there..... but I forget how it's going to work.  Of course, what "they" said then and what "they" say now will have changed anyway.

.....I was not expecting to see this in the summer also! I think it just proves that the serious traffic problem is NOT just gringo-caused but is indicative of the change in vehicle ownership and commercial traffic in general at Lakeside. ............

You're forgetting, my friend, the amount of new construction west of Ajijic ( single-family, small or larger gated communities, etc) with  accompanying influx of mostly  foreign purchasers (some with 2 cars) who must be on that road for nearly everything they want to do, ergo very large effect on congestion.

In general east bound traffic is fine from west Ajijic going east once you get past the Ajijic Clinic.

My dear friend.......you don't live anywhere near AJjic / West Ajijic.   Trust me........ there are times as I exit VIlla Nova headed east it's a crawl until at least the "monument" at La Floresta.  And coming back to the west can be a breeze or a full-on nightmare.  And this when the winter people haven't started to arrive.  🤐
