........ when I found Guterman here, I was so excited, only to find out it isn't the same- not nearly as smooth- it's not as fuzzy as the Seralon, but still harder to get through the needle than what I was used to.
Me again..... you made me so curious I checked my sewing box. (Covid boredom motivation.... what can I say?) Box even contains thread so old it's on wooden spools 🤣🤣 . Found Gutterman bought in Canada and in Mexico. BUT.... and this is really odd..... one from Canada, product of Germany says silk finish on the spool and is is thinner than the Mexican variety. Another from Canada, also made in Germany but without "silk finish" is fatter.

I have set up some for very non technical users and they are extremely happy with the unit.
Please respond to AndyPanda about older vs newer version (scroll up just a bit). Gracias

Be aware the one on mercadolibre is an older version. You can tell by looking at the remotes.
Alpha1 is the person to respond to this. When i bought mine, he said to get the "older" version----- can't remember why and don't care---- but he had a "good" reason and he can weigh in. Pretty sure the ML one is what I bought.

I don’t understand, SECOND SHOTS NOR RECEIPTS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR SENIORS.
It means they are doing TEACHERS this week, and they are using Cansino (single dose) shots. No seniors will be allowed..... not the right vaccine, and simply not your (or my) turn yet even tho' our similar group is being done this week in 2 locations in Joco.
They'll get to us soon. They're now accepting pre- registrations (mivacuna site) for 50-59

Will be available on Amazon Mexico in late May
Now on Mercadolibre
That's the one. MercadoLibre is MUCH better price and on a very quick look, appear to be what one needs.

I know- I sew for a living and when I found Guterman here, I was so excited, only to find out it isn't the same- not nearly as smooth- it's not as fuzzy as the Seralon, but still harder to get through the needle than what I was used to.
Gee my friend..... I find it thinner, really pretty smooth. Of course I don't do the heavy work you do. But it's still stronger and lasts a lot longer than Seralón.... and for the clothing I make and wear for YEARS, Seralón requires over-sewing from time to time as it literally wears out, so have quit using except for mending stuff that's nearly ready to toss anyway.
KARINA: You won't pay that if you happen to be in Guad for other purposes.

So harking back to Lexy's original Post which seems like an eternity ago.... I'll bet at this point she is sorry she asked with all the one-upmanship and half-truths going on.
She had a simple question. Unless she is somewhat technical the purchase of a Firestick gets her nowhere. Is this "Rich" fellow still around or is he the one who 'departed'? She may not be into 'side-loading' or Kodi or VPNs or ???
Is there a simple solution to her basic "2-needs" question aside from Shaw or Dish? Something she won't have to modify every couple of months to keep it running?
We have a Firestick 4K........and trust me, Aplha 1 knows me and knows I CANNOT do basic 1st time programming set-up. I know Lexy.... she could not either!(no criticism implied).
Rich programmed ours when it arrived(hugely reasonable rate for this, plus an operating lesson next day in my house), and has returned once for a re-program of some kind I didn't understand but was a total system "upgrade" initiated by??? over which I had no control --- mystified me, but he did it in about 5 minutes. . (Not to be confused with ONE viewing app needing an update, which anyone can do). And yes, unless YOU choose to pay for some some special apps (we have more FREE than we use) it's totally free.
Bad news..... unless something has changed VERY recently, Amazon does not ship the "4K" model to Mexico.... so you have to find a mule.
LEXY..... phone me if you want to know more.

I don't think anyone out here sells good quality thread any more but would be HAPPY for someone to prove me wrong!
I get mine in Guad when needed, and even then the Gutterman made in Mexico different than what I brought from the north many years ago. But it certainly is better than the thicker, local stuff like Seralón, etc. There's a small sewing section inside the papelería in San Antonio right next to Mario's restaurant. Chapala has a small fabric store (kitty-corner from bus station at east end) but I didn't see Gutterman there either.

Go to Ajijic Hospital (Ajijic Clinic) just west of Farmacia Guadalajara. Competent to handle your (and much worse) issues, has been here for a very long time, and will not cost you the bundle either of the other two will.

Find your kitty? DO NOT give up. Many years ago a cat escaped from where it was being boarded, and it took ONE MONTH for dedicated owners to try and find him..... and they DID!!!!!

Chapala is vaccinating teachers this week. Probably too busy to add Ajijic also.
I know... but not until Wednesday. They COULD have sneaked us in.......
Sour grapes that's all.

I thought last time around Joco and Chapala were at the same time. No? But if yes, any idea why them now and not us? JEALOUS!

I'd say that they're probably different in Guadalajara. I've rented in San Miguel de Allende, in Bucerias and San Pancho and Lakeside and have never been asked for a fiador.

We've never regretted not renting. Too many of our friends and acquaintances have had to move because the property was sold, the owners wanted to move back in, the property was a maintenance disaster and so on.
To each their own, but we've never regretted renting 😊.... even tho' reasons changed along the way. First owner (Mexican) would have liked us to stay forever, but American friends needed us in their home when they changed countries. When that house sold we rented again, and 9 years later different (Mexican) owner again says "we love having you in our house... stay as long as you like".
In #1 and # 3, we were quoted USD to be paid in pesos according to spot rate on rent day. Guessing that's partly because Lakeside many people are more comfortable with using USD as a figure? Others I know have been quoted /pay directly in pesos. In ALL cases that I know of, 1st, last, and one month for damage deposit has been required upon entering the rental contract. 5% late rent penalty is also common, if not totally standard.
In four different cases Mexican Guad owners were involved. Not one of them ever mentioned a fijador ( I was "translator--go-between" in each contract so yes, I'm sure.)

Follow the directions on finding lost pets at top of this section to the letter. Put up posters at your house and each end of your block. Biggest word on poster RECOMPENSA (Reward). Kids and everyone else on foot will be on the lookout. Describe as well as you can. Photo is better. Mexicans will NOT phone you. Put your street address..... they'll come right to the door. (Watch yourself here......)
Go out after dark, taking a small noisy container of kibble or treats. Stand still. Shake container. Call the cat. LISTEN. Move on a little and repeat. Know that indoor cats are more likely to be closer to home than outdoor cats. Take a powerful flashlight and check every single nook and cranny both inside and outside your yard. You would be amazed where cats have been found.
IF your cat used to go outside in a different area here, better head over there..... he may be trying to find his way "home". Alerting residents of that property would be good. A poster on that door ( if they will) would be better.
Pas and claws crossed for safe return.

Totally on your side with this Mudgirl. Subsidies also very poor people to get electric service.... even if using so little they only fall into the basic 1st tier, but could not do so if higher overall rates were applied.

I was thinking about this last night and suddenly had a "memory flash"..... and "saw" the article in the Guad Reporter with drawings of the different gang markings and what they meant. Clearest memory is "woman living here alone". I THINK others may have been "don't bother, already done", "good stuff here", "big mean dog" etc. Anyone else remember this?

Rubbish.!!!!!!
In the early 2000's it was ALL TOO COMMON here...... so don't be so quick to judge. May not be the case this time, but some of usl remember checking our outside walls every morning and washing the markings off, praying we'd do it before the word spread among the bad boys. And yes, before you ask.... people WERE robbed as a result of these "codes".

No need to guess or drive all over town. When this area is scheduled the information will be announced here:
https://www.jalisco.gob.mx/es/gobierno/comunicados/vacunacion-de-adultos-mayores-en-jalisco
They will say when and where.
That's the site I checked today and you're right..... nada. But since the Ajijic contact was SO sure of herself, and since I could not talk to the phone numbers listed on above site (no answer) I took a chance.... and then you'll see not long after I said "false alarm".

Friend reports NOT set up in Cristiana Park. Guessing the Ajijic person was misinformed but??? Sorry for getting hopes up, but stay alert.
Statewide TEACHER vacc's are scheduled to begin April 28, and Chapala region WILL be held in Cristiana Park so that deflates our hopes for next week.......
-
Got an email from a friend this a.m. saying headed to Ajijic for 2nd dose. Did not mention how she knew. Then phoned another friend who lives near Cristiana Park in Chapala to go over and take a look. So far no answer, but if anyone else lives near either site, now would be the time to spread the word!
Still nothing on official site, and phones would not answer when I tried to call.

Lots of traffic today as they are working on the highway. Coming back to Ajijic it was a little slow coming home but the traffic going into Guadalajara had a 9 km backup. Leave early
Friday Apr 9 we left San A at 9:10 for a location up above Mariano Otero on Niños Heroes (hwy , Laz. Cardenas, and then another "fast" road.) that normally takes 1 hr 5-10 minutes tops. Often less. Yes, it was a Friday (not avoidable), but the construction back-up to get into the line, and then get around a 3-car pileup inside the line, took over two 1/2 hours for what I usually get thru' in about 20 minutes. SO yes.... plan for LOTS of leeway.

TelsZ4: It's not a case of where you live. I've been here longer than you and have always received both while living here. But they DO know where I live and always have.
If OP is in fact referring to something related to OAS then it very well could be as I outlined. I was actually a little unclear on whether OP meant OAS or GIS..... which definitely requires you live in Canada

27,600 doses of Sinovac arrived in Guad yesterday. No word yet on their destination. (Source: Informador on line)

Being done according to school district in which they work, not by their home address. Two MEGA locations in Guad. 11 other locations throughout the state, with live TV coverage yesterday and today from Guad and Chapala sites in news broadcasts. Appears really well organized, with alphabetical order PLUS "booked" arrival times.
