I usually give the driver 10 pesos and sometimes they give 2 pesos back, depending on the driver.  The nicer autobus that goes direct to Guadalajara turns at the Walmart/Mall intersection

There are two "nicer" buses.... one turns at Libramiento and other goes on to Chapala.  Those are the ones that are 10 pesos.  I'm guessing the smaller ones that weave in and out might be 8 if you look like a senior.  Highway buses are same for all.

  2. There's been a LOT of noise on TV news (Guad and Mexico City) lately about travel scams including some that  appear to come from "real" web pages .  I  think it's mostly happening via cell phones but can't justify that comment.  They're warning people to be super sure they know who they're dealing with.  Many have lost all monies paid plus their supposed trips.

Can only imagine these scammers will up the ante during Buen Fin. 😠

  3. Curiosity got the better of me.  Have had the same issue at base of thumb for over 10 years, but I use splint and other methofs to alleviate.  Getting painful enough more often  I might ask the Chapala ortho as I have to see him soon anyway.

  4. There's one in CHapala who did my carpal tunnel surgery in around 2014.  I'm not sure what you mean by trapezoid.... but send me a pm for lots more info.  He is NOT associated any of the "gringo grafters" here.   Failing that, I also know a super guy in Guad ( did my hip replacement) who repaired a surgeon's  multi-fractured left hand, and did it so well that person is able to do microsurgery again.

  5. Gee, from Milenio News this a.m. on TV I got quite a different impression.  You have to remember.... this is the FIRST EVER time a tropical storm Pacific side went from simply that to a Cat  FIVE Hurricane , in 12 hours. Also the first Cat Five ever to  make landfall at that speed. Damage was             instantaneous, without warning. widespread, and knocked out everything.  So it's not like other storms which,  tho' ghastly, at least left a dgree of time to prepare. Also, it hit head-on instead of the usual "some" degree of angle.

Aeromexico has started to fly stranded people out/  others in( essential workers?) twice a day after rigging up means to get around damages to control tower and main terminal. Autopista del Sol from Mexico City is open again.  Lots of buses have started taking tourists to closest points for them to continue homeward journeys. Marines in charge of checking incoming   trucks/trailers loaded with goodies so they can weed out non-essentials,making it easier to set up distribution of food, water, basic hygiene items etc.  Some %age of cell and electricity up and running, and working on more.

Some entity (army??  other??') has set up a post where people could get enough "bars" to quickly try and contact others within / outside Acapulco         ( not 24/7 but something) and there's a registry where people searching family/friends can register from either end.  Some areas up in the higher points etc still not reachable, but it's not like they were prepared for this.  Of course it's not enough... never is..... and it's taking time. But I don't agree things are not being done as best they can.

    ....... ,glucosamine ........

That's NOT specifically a pet med.  Costco has it ( with or without other additives) and some of the "people" stores here would too, tho' price may not be to your liking. Then there's Amazon MX and Mercado Libre, where allows specify "dogs" or let's you browse in standard category.

  7. Send a message to member    tkessler2   on this board.  He uses    miituo.com    for a low mileage vehicle and told me I should check it out for mine.  Apparently has had good experiences with them, including some claims.

If you google:   seguro por km      they explain how it's charged ( once a month based on last 30 days on odometer). I believe you can see a selection of companies to check out. I also think they ( or Tom?) gave a total km / year that you should fall under to make it worthwhile.

  8. Renovations now complete in underground commercial plaza across ( to west) from Cathedral downtown Guad. Informador says they'll be able to process 180 Mexican passports per day but I can't confirm, tho' believe, that means same day delivery.    300 Driver's licenses, with virtual  test stations where needed. INE to come soon ( not quite complete). Other services related to Guad ( municipal fees, business licenses, etc.) Says a recaudadora is there but not clear if one could pay traffic tickets etc.

IF PP are same day delivery, will be a lot more convenient from out here than the only other one with that service at the moment.

  9. I get all my stuff.....   Doppler aortic ultrasound, cardios, MRI's and CT scans done in Guad.  Don't personally want to go to SAH rip-off joint (yes, I'm entitled to my opinion as others are to theirs), and don't know enough about people here who will interpret them to be trustful.  Have heard of some  patients whose doctors were NOT impressed with results/interpretations of various tests..... local but from where?

Absolutely get your butt down here and get on with your testing.  My retired GP's wife in Canada is in URGENT need and they can't get anywhere near a date.
