Small Countertop Convection Microwave
Natasha replied to RickS's topic in Ajijic/Chapala/Guadalajara
I googled this becasue I'd never heard of a convection microwave oven. Everything I found says they're small. I wonder, sm1mex ........ are you answering Rick's question? OR are you talking about the biggies from about a 1-2 years ago like MaxKalorik etc? ( which I considered but rejected becasue they use a lot of power AND generate a tremendous amount of heat so need specific space all around which I didn't have). Only asking because I want to learn. -
let's hope it works better than the last few this is about as NON-rainy a rainy season as we've seen in 25 years 😬

Yeah... why? Because if you think it got hot here this year, Monterrey has been, and still is, WAY worse 🥵

Getting Prescription Glasses at Costco
Natasha replied to Natasha's topic in Ajijic/Chapala/Guadalajara
Thanks for this tip Fred. I got the impression from the man on Tuesday that if I walked in with Rx ready, all I had to do was choose frames, give deposit, and Rest would follow. I'll double check that. -
Getting Prescription Glasses at Costco
Natasha replied to Natasha's topic in Ajijic/Chapala/Guadalajara
and her sister Dra. Paulina are where I would get my Rx. Have been to Claudia for ages. Since I go to Costco Vallarta anyway for dog/cat food it can work. But thank you. -
From those with personal experience please. Was it a better option ( price, selection, etc) than getting them elsewhere? Thinking I'll need to get some in foreseeable future but don't know if 2 trips close together makes up for gas, time, etc. Gracias.

When did this change? They have delivered to 45922 ( a friend in San A) but can't say in the last 12 months. I only go in person and as you know, we moved from San A 14 months ago.

Are you able to elaborate a bit Ken..... for others to be prepared as to what to expect? -

Of course they don't. Nor is it even decided yet which agencies will participate. The usual cart-before-the-horse syndrome. Feel for those who new to renew soon. My turn is far enough away they'll have a whole new set of directives 😂 -
1. Not ours 🤔 2. absolutely a possibility

Do you leave TV's, lights, ceiling fans, etc. on when you're not in that room(s)? Do you have an electric stove or even just an oven? Do you unplug things like microwave, iron, coffee maker, and any other small electricity-using things when not in use except modems? Do you shut down desktop overnight if you have one? Do you have a pool.... even if solar heated you might be using power to keep circulatory "things" running as they should. (says pool system dummy). Do you unplug dryer ( if you have one) when not in use? (Yes I realize it will be gas-fired but it still uses electricity to run). Do you have a pressure system for water? Have you checked to be sure no pumps are running when they should not? ( Once the pump from an aljibe to a tinaco 3 stories up ran too much. Turned out float valve in tinaco was broken and thereby tinaco called for water far too often.) In 25 years and 4 houses here, we only once ever had a sudden spike.... and yes, someone had tapped into the line (approx 2003) . But meter location ( complicated story) was a long way from the house, and CFE did investigate and deal with the issue after I went a few times to old office. And we've never once come anywhere close to DAC rate even tho' all houses are large.

Looking for Rental - Start Oct.
Natasha replied to Sam Laundon's topic in Ajijic/Chapala/Guadalajara
Your choice of location and $$ parameters make that quite a challenge these days. FB has some sites you might want to check out. -
And there was a little yellow (normally street) bus that was co-opted to drive boat ride people from end of the pier to where the boats had enough water to float, and then back again!

Be careful what you throw out in the garbage
Natasha replied to ARIBOY's topic in Ajijic/Chapala/Guadalajara
You're not supposed to leave garbage out that long in the first place. Yes, Ken is correct.... but knowing when garbage truck comes to your area and putting it out only a short time before would help that a lot. -
