  1. We have one computer that gets 80 to 100 Mbps down and 25 Mbps up on WiFi directly through the Ilox modem. Computer is a small Acer tower and is within 10 feet of the Ilox modem. My Lenovo laptop is 15 feet away and I am lucky to get 50 Mbps down. We have the original 100 Mbps package; located central Ajijic down by the lake.
  2. Just got a call from the same number 331-230-4780. He just said I am your friend Michael; told him I know about his scam and he hung up.
  3. Fake News; that is what I thought
  4. Court0503; Where did you get this info ? I cant find anywhere on any so called reputable websites.
  5. I use Google Drive; 15 MB free. The Google Drive folder on my computer automatically syncs with the "Cloud" and then if I need something when I am travelling I can access the "Cloud" from my Iphone.
  6. I have lived in this house in Ajijic for 12 years with minimal CFE problems especially in the last 5 or 6 years since they replaced the transformer down the street; also my next door neighbor worked for CFE. Telmex has been a problem until the last couple of years, every year there was something going wrong; once no phone or internet for 8 weeks. However, since Ilox was installed a year ago (I kept my Telmex service also) the Telmex download speed has continued to improve and is now over 50 mbps and is more reliable and consistent than Ilox; this morning the Ilox download speed was 15 mbps; I check both regularly. I will be cancelling my Ilox service after we get through this lockdown; for me a backup is important right now.

  8. Wow, the check is for US residents, not non-residents; if your spouse is a non-resident you are probably are a non-resident as well. No politics just common sense.
  9. The light is controlled by a little switch that is pressed in when the fridge door closes; you can test it by pressing the switch with your finger and the light will go off. No need to unplug the fridge.
  10. Drove past Superlake about 10:00 am this morning; it was open.
  11. I agree with Tom Kessler; my Callcentric VOIP service works just fine on Ilox. The problem with the Ilox phone must be the crappy modem.
  12. What an irresponsible thing to do; there is no room for distancing even if the booths are 10 feet apart. Obviously the Presidente is an :() and I won't bother to say the rest of what I think of this.
  13. Your comment is noted; hope you are happy with your free service.
  14. The booth was there last fall; I have never turned in a tourist card at Laredo.
  15. Service has been reliable; occasionally a station might be down but overall much more reliable than other services I used in the past. I pay monthly in case the system goes down; i think you can do 3 months for a saving of $1 per month. I use credit card; never had a problem; I dont know about Paypal. I tried several of the services recommended from Troypoint but had reliability problems. The Kodi stuff just makes it too tough for my wife to operate.
  16. Works great, 4000+ stations; lots of sports, movies, US and Canadian networks as well as locals, many UK and Mexican stations. Most of the stations I watch regularly are high definition.
  17. Check out StreamsForUs.net; lots of live TV for $7 per month.
  18. Yes the booth is on the far left just before the toll booths.
  19. If you are headed to San Antonio then Columbia is a better crossing point. If staying in Laredo then Columbia is about 45 minutes more driving time vs Laredo bridge. Check the border wait times on the Border Wait Time phone app when you get close to the cut-off for Columbia and make a decision on which to use. There is a booth at both Columbia and the Laredo bridge for removing the vehicle TIP if that is of concern.
  20. A good router may help your buffering issue if you need or are using a VPN. I could go on forever with the testing that I have done over the last year but the short story is that I have an Asus router with StrongVPN loaded on it and this has eliminated all buffering issues. Also, and I know some of the computer geeks here are going to disagree with me but I get faster download speeds with StrongVPN vs no VPN (measured by both Speedtest.net and Fast.com) and I guess this is because the internet is going directly to the US rather than bouncing around Mexico before getting to the US. In fact the Asus router with StrongVPN has made it possible that I can stream on Telmex internet so I will be cancelling the Ilox service very soon.
  21. I was in Walmart yesterday; saw several employees stocking shelves wearing a mask around their neck !!!
  22. Wow; the OP wants to delete their own fake news. Lets get the right info on this most important topic in a new thread.
  23. I changed from NordVPN to Strong VPN on my Asus-WRT router and the buffering problem went away. I tried both VPNs on the Fire TV apps and they did not eliminate the buffering; Strong VPN running on the router solved the problem.
