  1. I was there yesterday - as was a friend - we both grabbed some   cans of 411 gm kirkland  organic diced tomatoes marked at 25 pesos each.  When I got to the cash register they rang up 185p  (i am not sure if for one or two - I think for each) .  I related they were marked 25 p and without a groan they repriced at 25 pesos.  I will be back - good customer service.

  2. From a perspective of payment, yes, easier to hire a cleaning company. But a cleaning company won't bring you flowers and cake on your birthday - nor  fresh berries from the berry farm - yesterday she brought 3 pts of raspberries.  So for me, lots of benefits in having a cleaning helper instead of a cleaning company.

Still looking for vacation pay advice

not sure I understand vacation pay -

lets say I have an employee that is entitled to one week's paid vacation.

So he takes the week off and I pay him.

Now I owe an additional 25% or do I have to pay another week plus 25%

Diane Pearl said Riberas will be the new downtown when she moved her shop from central Ajijic a few years ago. Looks like she's right.

In my opinion Riberas is dull - like to swim which is why i live there.  And we all have shopping preferences - for example I prefer Superlake -   Riberas right now is a great place to buy a car, rent a car, go to a hardware store, go to church, swim, get your car washed.  Actually there are some good restaurants and good theater - and lots of bazaars.  And for Diane Pearl's store - I think the only retail on that street within a few blocks.  Have been to a class there, but it isn't a place that you can easily drive by - you need to deliberately go there - which is why I forget to go there.
and I forgot - good bus service.
More like a nice area close to Ajijic - but missing mexican cultural activities - to include parades - that I really enjoyed when i lived in Ajijic.  Not much magic here.  In my opinion.
and i do look forward to Hola

Their website no longer functions. It appears that a Spanish theater chain named Sensacine with about a dozen theaters in Mexico may have bought them. But their website is not listing anything as yet for the Laguna mall location

I was at the food court today and they had people in costume trying to get attendees to come watch a film  !!  Speaking Spanish -

  5. the link on chapala.com for the webboard has an error.

The current link on chapala.com is https://www.chapala.com/wwwboard/webboard.html

    The correct link is https://chapala.com/webboard/

To correct the current link, it looks like /wwwboard and .html  should be deleted from the link   https://www.chapala.com/wwwboard/webboard.html   and the link would then become https://chapala.com/webboard/

and of course then to test the link to make sure it works

Opposite the Coca Cola depot under the trees.

    Thanks Alpha1. Will go there.

Had an interesting experience with those guys - actually a very good one for mexico.  I had a bunch of keys made ealier this year - maybe 8 different ones and most didn't work when i got home. So went back and  one of the guys said he would come home with me to fix - and he hopped into my car and came to my house and fixed each one.
