  1. Very true, Pedro. Now we can
  2. I will be more polite than you ( and less emotional ) are and simply agree to strongly disagree. Good that you are loyal to your hard working friend. I am happy that there are customers for both services, and wanted to point out that, as always, there is also ...another side. All the best Rony
  3. I use Uber here in Guadalajara. I always have one within 5 minutes, and unlike a lot of regular taxis here: no discussion on prices ( the right price appears on my cell phone ), or claiming that the taximeters dont work, and they use the fastest route..... ( I am tired of all that ). Lots of advantages, and I tip. Taxi licences are often only handed out to those who know the right people ( so you can guess where the money ends up ..... ) and they like to work banking hours only. I only use a regular taxi when I am at Lakeside because I have a good friend/taxi driver there ( that is how I know about the "taxi licence game" ....I am being polite here ). I am a Uber fan. Support the hard working Uber driver, when you can. They often also have a family. Rony
  4. Hay dos personas debajo de los árboles....not "abajo". ( Google the difference between debajo and abajo ) Sorry for the correction....but since it is about a language test
  5. Also hugs to R. ! I am living back in Guadalajara. Virginia has lung fibrosis now, but already made it to 14.5 years. Take care !
  6. I agree. And " Nice and caring " is not my first criterium, when choosing a doctor. On WHO list, Mexico ranks 65 or so ( in healthcare quality ). Yes. You can have good experiences...but a bit of common sense here: in a country with one of the worst education systems, how can you expect to have a majority of excellent doctors and nurses ?? Over 21 years here....I dont think of a few personal good experiences ( which I dont deny ! ) but numerous times, where I translated at IMSS and hospital civil ( and I worked with dozens of caregivers ). Many horror stories ( and yes, a few good ones ). Unfortunately, I have known too many people here, who today, should still be alive. Let us not even mention lack of consistency and corruption. One probably also should make a distinction between the more expensive health care facilities for the few, versus the inexpensive ones for the poor majority. Therefore,...my personal opinion... for a majority of people here it is NOT good. I have many good reasons for living here, but healthcare is not one of them ( and I dont feel the need to compare to the US system ) Not what you want to hear, I know... ( bring on the bullets .... but do a good and fast job....the Red Cross is NOT where I want to die ...I am being nice here ). It is a lottery, where luck and money will give you the winning ticket. A smile could help too Rony
  7. Thanks for the update. So very very sad
  8. Brigitte. It is not that nice Camille, who lives in Nayarit, is it ? With the pug ?
  9. I am looking for a rental, starting Nov 1st, centro Chapala or walking distance and not the higher price range. I would also consider a long term housesit ( min 3 months )...... I have very good references from landlords ( no damage, no fights and punctual rent payments ) Rony elbelgicano@yahoo.com
  10. CBD oil is working fantastically for my + 14 year old doggie ( bone spurs/arthritis/spondylosis ). It might have a very small amount of THC in it...., which actually makes it work a lot better ( reading about it, I was also reluctant at first, but not anymore ). I tried the completely THC free one ( from the US and organic ), and it didnt do a thing. Conventional painkillers didnt work. Furthermore, I dont trust the local ( Lakeside ) stuff. Ofcourse, everything in strict moderation, and step by step. I honestly believe, that without it, I wouldnt have her with me today. So nice to see her happy, relaxed and pain free
  11. Yes ! Because they didnt wash their hands !
  12. When somebody shouts gringo at me, I reply: "oh NO, que horrible, dónde está ?" (while looking around me). It usually makes them smile, and I dont care what they call me. I have actually been called a lot worse. ... a different subject, inappropriate for this webboard
  13. I already get tired, simply thinking of Ikea furniture. If they launch in 2040, it will be to soon for me. I thought that by coming to Mexico I had escaped from that "cheap tasteless European stuff". In Europe, their stores have restaurants (as a part of the store), and they have decent French fries though, which compensates for the horrors of being dragged around that store. Rony
  14. By the way....nothing personal. I like a good discussion.
  15. You could also say that not being able to handle the truth/facts turns people emotional.
  16. Seeing your emotional reaction proves exactly the opposite
  17. So, freedom of speech is limited to the passport you hold ... Hmm I see constant comparisons between countries here. Nothing new. Europe has A LOT of problems too, ..... Just saying that hardly any European would like to copy your health care system, whatever you may say about it and however hard you may try to justify your "first and only me thinking". Feel free to stick to your opinion, but be gracious in letting other people also criticise, whatever their race or nationality
  18. With all the shortcomings in the European health care system, you can keep yours. I worked there and paid 54 % of my wages into taxes, during 20 years ( without ever needing any help myself ). And I am happy that by doing that, my fellow human beings got great free education, a very good railway system and a fair excellent health care system. Indirectly, well educated and healthy people around me, will also benefit me. Why would it be that every year the Scandinavians rank among the happiest people in the world.... It is probably not the sunlight Why not abolish government all together and return to the wild West. Especially with your health care system, you have nothing to be proud about. Rony
  19. Yes. Source: El Universal newspaper. A major Telmex infinitum problem that started a little after 3 pm...in a big part of Mexico
