  1. There is a whole bunch of smaller private hospitals in Guadalajara, that are FAAAR less expensive and as good as the ones mentioned above. Rony
  2. Sad. Another long time member of this webboard gone. RIP Ceri
  3. Here is a link to a publication of January 2023, from the Bienestar website. 25 years residence is not mentioned anymore here. https://programasparaelbienestar.gob.mx/pension-bienestar-adultos-mayores/
  4. The 1092 pesos is not the amount that they pay. It says that you cant have another pension of more than 1092, in order to get the Bienestar one.
  5. Like I wrote....things might have changed or some people got lucky. This is from the Mex government website pdf ( where they also mention that a birth certif is required ) : I. ¿Quiénes pueden ser los beneficiarios? Las personas de 65 años de edad en adelante, mexicanos por nacimiento o con un mínimo de 25 años de residencia en el país, que no reciban pensión mayor a $1,092.00 pesos mensuales por concepto de jubilación o pensión de tipo contributivo.
  6. Maybe my pdf from the government website is not uptodate and things have changed then. It doesnt show a date. I looked again. But it clearly says : Mexican by birth or 25 years residency here. Or some people got lucky 😀
  7. Interesting about the bienestar pension. I have a pdf from a government website that says that you can get it if : - Mexican citizen " by birth " - or having lived here for 25 years. By the way... there is a facebook group " Naturalización y Nacionalidad Mexicana ", with 30 000 members. A lot of useful info there. And maybe I am wrong....but I always believed that after 60, there is no language test. Rony
  8. Thank you. Doing great 😊. Goodnight.
  9. DIF accepts clothes. I was there last week, and asked them if we could donate clothes that belonged to a friend who passed away recently. Rony
  10. Chapala municipal clinic is where I would go. Not that far from Riberas
  11. I also collected the GB for when Telmex went out. I then used that cell phone ( with plan amigo ) as a hotspot and could continue teaching online classes with those GB s on my laptop. I have had plan amigo for many years and have been very happy with it.
  12. Yes. It rolls over if extended on or before the last day. At one time, I had collected 20 GB in total ( added up... ) Rony
  13. I had the same thing. It lasted a few days and when I finally picked up the phone, I didnt speak and held the phone in front of a German talk radio. It was their last call. I know that it was a cruel thing to do, but hey.....à la guerre comme à la guerre
  14. A while ago, I read something here about the HSBC branch in San Antonio being closed. Was this a temporary thing and are they back open ? My Chapala landlords ( who live in the US ) would like me to pay the rent there. Thanks😊 Rony
  15. So very very sorry, B., What a nightmare. But can you be sure that a private ambulance doesnt call the police either, .....because they might have to. Hugs Rony
  16. Hi B., Not private, but maybe the Chapala municipal clinic can help you. It is my first place to go for doctor or any kind of medical emergency....open 24 hours. Hug Rony
  17. Somebody who can also give you great advice on where and how to get oxygen, is Veronica Torres, the owner of the pharmacy, on the main drag in Chapala : corner Madero and Flavio Romero. In the past, she helped a lot of people getting oxygen. Rony
  18. So sad to read this. I met Louise and Bob, for the first time in 2005, when I started my restaurant in Chapala. I needed somebody to test and taste different kinds of coffee. He did a great job and thanks to him, I found excellent coffee. More importantly, I learnt a lot from this very well travelled and smart man. My heart and thoughts are with Louise. Rony
  19. Another vote for the Mexicans. I worked as a European flight attendant for 14 years ( so,.....I discovered some common traits about my fellow Europeans....not always, but often correct )......and in general, Mexicans ( where I have lived for + 20 years...in Mexico ) are a lot nicer, warmer AND happier than the Spaniards. The Spaniards also tell me that "my Spanish" is not real Spanish. It is "Mexican". They almost consider it as a dialect !( That alone says enough )
  20. I am reading in several Facebook posts today that Banamex in Chapala is closed....until further notice.....
  21. Hi....for the time being, working here in Europe. But ....I will always return to Mexico. Happy 2022 ! Rony
  22. So kind ! Thank you ! Only temporarily here in Europe. My heart,...as always ...in Mexico. Feliz 2022 to you....and all other members here ! Rony
  23. Another vote for https://www.handsoftheartisan.com/en/ Made by Canadians. It helped my 15 year old doggie in the last years of her life. They make CBD for people and pets.
