  1. Jeez! All this haggling over 4.21 US. What is the big problem??
  2. Handing out sweets to the local kids and population is how the druggies get them on their side and helping resist the authorities when they come to "clamp" down. It is hard to tell the bad guys from the others.
  3. I use Hormigal which is available at any hardware store in the area and at the garden shops. With this, one has to find their nest (hole in the ground usually) and spread Hormigal carefully around the place and it destroys the nest completely. This chemical requires care as it can be harmful to pets - especially cats if they are able to walk through it.
  4. Hi, recently I have been receiving emails from a site called "Pocket'. It provides odd bits of news and information. I have no idea of its origins. I am wondering if it is safe to open>
  5. Jara near Telmex in Ajijic, has a variety of these and you will probably find one that would fit.
  6. Used them once to resolve a noise in my brakes. they kept the car for 2 days, claimed it was fixed and charged 1500 pesos. noise continued so went to other garage and was told problem was in the suspension. Which they fixed.
  7. The poster said the confrontation was on the carretera, not the plaza.
  8. Cricket is right. Have patience. I ordered some Canadian meds which eventually arrived in customs from India. Several months later I received a request from MC for a copy of the prescription which I duly mailed off. Several months after that I got a notice from Customs in Guad, that my parcel was there. When I got it, the packaging had been demolished and everything was loose, but it was all there.
  9. I was away for 3 days. Did not use my service while away. On my return got a message -supposedly from microsoft - telling my my outlook had been compromised -possibly because of using a different computer. I did what they asked then they were supposed to send a code. My inbox was frozen. Code never came. Repeated the steps still no action other than my inbox was unlocked. I am also getting the same message on Gmail. Am I being hacked or is this legitimate??
  10. yesterday I posted a notice that I read in the magazine Pajina that the office would open in Chapala in July. No date given.
  11. Martin, in front of Telmex?
  12. Read an article in Pajina, that the office will open in Chapala sometime in July.
  13. This campaign against plastic bags is getting a little disproportionate when you consider that they make up only .8% of the plastics now in use. Even if we eliminate them all, it will have an insignificant impact on the problem.
  14. I went to the office on Thursday and the girl told me Chula Vista was due for service in July,
  15. I think Martine stll operates his shop on the carretera in Ajijic near Telmx. I got some done tere some time ago.
  16. I too, was a long term patient of Dr Garcia and have a lot of respect for his abilities. I enrolled in his first programme and the cost was (brace yourself) $1500 pesos. That should give you all some idea of how long ago that started.
  17. Can you give me his contact information, please?
  18. After reading an article in the Mural, which confused me completely, I went to the testing location in Chapala last week and found it closed with no indication of any activity around it. The mechanic next door, told me it had not been open lately. When it was till in operation the tester told me cars of two years or less did not have to be tested.
  19. I would certainly like to know the name of the farmacia in Chapala at which she gets such a good price for her meds. I know there is often a difference in price between drug stores but this variation is beyond the norm.
  20. These do not sound like bobos. We have never had bobos in the house but these little grey moth like bugs get into every room in the house. besides, I think the bobo season is over. I thought these were done too as we have hardly any around these days.
  21. Dr Don, at Maskaras did mine 8 months ago and they are solid, no problems of any sort.
  22. The annual subscription is 900pesos for a family and 350per month per person for swimming twice a week. Usually we are the only ones in the pool when we swim at 1300 hrs on Tuesday and Thursdays.
