  1. Sorry, but you couldn't be more wrong. I can see at least a dozen items in our home that we got custom made in Tonala. Most of the iron factories can make items just from photos. There are several factories that specialize in dinnerware from affordable to very expensive. Wood furniture usually can also be custom made. The tianguis on Thurs. and Sun. is fun to go to at least once for the experience. Think Chapala size x10, mostly goods.
  2. Must not have tried very hard. https://wagwalking.com/symptom/why-is-my-dog-rolling-on-his-back Basically they're happy!
  3. Another problem with the light at Super Lake is that the people driving west cant see the light unless they stop well back from the street. Just got back from shopping there and had the green light to enter the carretera and 2 cars headed west didnt even stop and when I honked my horn got a dirty look.
  4. Since my wife and I came from San Diego the weather definitely wasn't a factor. Cost of living was for sure. I retired when I was 55. With the sale of our house and some investments we were able to move down here and live comfortably until SS kicked in. My wife being born in Mexico also played a part in the decision.
  5. Thanks for the address. I've already ordered one from AmazonMx., being sent to my house.
  6. Good to know. I tried Amazon Mx once more and they said they will ship it to my house. We shall see, nice to have another option though.
  7. Thanks for the reply. I am aware of the dangers of using a used razor but am also aware that with simple sterilization procedures there is no problem. Sorry you had a bad experience. Some razors can get rather expensive so there is a market for used ones. I am aware of Amazon. I've already added a razor to my cart for when we go up to the states in March. For some reason AmazonMx won't deliver to my house. Thanks for the replies, I was just hoping to find a source for DE razors down here. I'm not brave enough to shave my head with a straight razor. For those of you who got to barbers here what kind of razors do they use?
  8. Getting tired of paying for cartridges and the waste. I've looked in all the usual places, Guadalajara Pharmacy, Walmart, Soriana. All they carry are cartridge razors. Any ideas or where to look? If anyone has an old DE razor that they no longer use I'd be happy to pay you for it.
  9. Just about everywhere, Walmart, Soriana, Superlake, Panchos.
  10. That was my initial reaction when I started reading this thread. Nothing to prevent them from raising their prices. I've been buying my Purina canned dog food at Pet Avenue because their price per can is cheaper than anywhere else, same as case price. Be interesting to see if it changes.
  11. And you have supposedly developed countries like the U.S. where there is still a large portion of the population that refuses to get vaccinated.
  12. We picked up ours at the Wednesday tianguise.
  13. God, are you really that ignorant? Read here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2021_Texas_power_crisis Texas was unprepared for the cold and tried to save money by skimping on upkeep for their gas lines. And you'll notice some of the big gas companies made billions overcharging their customers, but I guess that's OK with you, after all screw the customers so long as it doesn't hurt the bottom line.
  14. I'm sure the people living in coastal states would just love it. We're already seeing record number of storms, properties damaged, people being forced to move. I've got some desert property I'd be happy to sell you.
  15. All you have to do is read the comments below the article to see who it's audience is.
  16. Hardly a recommendation to keep it in your home. Just because a lot of people do it doesn't make it safe.
  17. When I first started getting my SS check it arrived on the 4th Wed. also. As soon as I changed banks to one here in Mexico it's been arriving on the 4th day.
  18. It's estimated that window strikes kill between 97 million and 957 million a year. Cats kill over 500 million a year. Wind mills kill over 33,000. Maybe to save the birds you should take the windows out of your house and get dogs to take care of the cats. https://www.sibleyguides.com/conservation/causes-of-bird-mortality/
  19. They can't "cut it" as you say right now because there's too much opposition to trying to develop alternative energy to it's full potential. From those on the right who think it's some kind of socialist or communist plot to the previously mentioned billionaires who have a vested interest in seeing it fail.
  20. Oh, and the oil and gas industries and the coal mining companies don't have a vested interest in making sure that we believe it's a fraud? The U.S. could be leading the world in renewable energy and providing jobs for those that have lost theirs in the rapidly declining coal mines but I guess it's better to just keep giving the billionaire owners tax breaks so they can help fund their favorite politician.
  21. I shop both, it's not that hard. GG has some items that Pancho's doesn't and vice/versa.
  22. I also liked the quantity of tools they carry but was little disappointed that they're almost exclusively Truper.
  23. I would definitely use Oscar. From the simplest job to the most complex he's never let us down. Much better than other upholsterers we've used.
