Another post mentioned they heard Dr. Briseño was not accepting new patients. I checked with him and he indicated he was accepting new patients. No one would be turned away.

Beware of the lakeside experts and their pacemakers. A few years ago my husband was toldmby his doctor to check with a cardio. He went to the one recommended by his doctor and was told on that saturday he needed a pacemake rightaway.It was urgent and the cardio offered to take us to Guadaljara that day. I said no way, took my husband home and called two specialists at Puerto de Hierro and made appointments first thing the following monday morning. The two cardiologists that we saw separately both agreed my husband did not need a pacemaker and that electric shocks to the heart was what was needed. They did it and my husband s heart went back to normal and was normal until he died of something unrelated several years later. It pays to get second and third opinions. I just got two lung specialists who wanted me to do a bronchoscopy,I really was not anxious to do that and went to a top specialist in Guadaljara who had me do another scan and cameisup with a totally differnt diagnosis that made sense to me so I am now seeing a gastro instead of doing a bunch of tests on the lungs that did not make sense to me. Find out who the good specialists are in Guadalajara and get second opinions..That is my advice.

I had a rapid onset cataract that suddenly fogged up my vision. Had it operated on yesterday by Dra Marianna at Quality Care. Got the bandage off today and I haven't seen this well in a long time. I got the corrective lens for distance but I need cheaters for up close. Found the glasses but I need one of those necklace thingies that allows you to hand the glasses around your neck. Any idea where to buy one?

As soon as you use your Canadian cell phone number when in Mexico, you are charged $14.00 a day as a daily rate - even with "roaming" turned off. Even if you are just receiving a text with a code to verify an account - no way around it and it is, as far as I know, a universal policy with all the companies offering cell phone plans in Canada. This policy is a fairly new and certainly has caught many people I know unawares. There is an upside to it - like if you want to pay the $14.00, I think you get some benefits if you need your phone all day for Canadian texts but I haven't investigated so not sure how it works - just sharing my own experience.

I don’t think a pet will be allowed. It is a closed in grocery store. I have never seen a pet in SuperLake or Walmart.

Good idea. If you don’t need or want Drs. here go to Drs. in Guadalajara. Plenty of great Drs. In Guadalajara.

I think it would be prudent to contact his office and not rely on hearsay.

Not what I meant. Of course there are pix on INE, DL, and at Intercam. Have Totalpay so no CFE or Telmex required. Never other than a renter. All I meant was with ML, I only purchase via desktop and pay in cash.... so they've never requested any foto ID of any kind. I have a HUGE personal problem with accepting any financial transaction done with a cell phone ( security) so I simply don't do them.

I use ML all the time and always pay cash. When I had a credit balance recently, when making next purchase, I simply clicked on "use Mercadopago" when it asked ( desktop) how I wanted to pay. The credit was more than the new purchase, so they simply carried it forward to next one.... and then I applied that credit plus paid the rest at Oxxo. I NEVER do transactions on my phone and no way they are getting pictures of documents of any kind.

I left my cardiologist at Quality Care and saw a new doc at the Riberas Hosp. I can't begin to describe the odd things I ran into while there, including a patient treatment area with a curtain that wasn't long enough to cover the door. I was able to flash all the male employees with my magnificent breasts during my EKG. By the way, the doctors appointment and EKG were 2250 pesos. At QC, the same appointment and EKG were 1000 pesos. I suspicion "gringo gouging".
