  3. Imagine the nerve! Posting on a public web board beautiful photos of views most people never get to see! Think of the people who don’t want to see photos except on designated sites. 😤

  10. I appreciated the heads up and could plan the route in advance for less hassle. I think that was the point of Mainecoons post.

  12. To my utter amazement the Chapala government is going to close the intersection of Hildalgo and Madero, in the center of Chapala where the traffic light is, for construction starting apparently tonight. The so called bypass is insane, a cow path that can't begin to handle the diversion. Most of the attendees and hosts of the Feria are west of that intersection. The only real practical way to get there now will be to take the libremiento to the top of Chapala and then make your way around it probably using the road that goes by the train station. Please don't let this stop you from going to the Feria, after a two year hiatus the artisans really need people to come. Here is the announcement. Someone please post this on TOB.

  14. FYI Coming from the North (Libramiento, Soriana) nothing has changed at the intersection other than you can't turn right. You are able to drive straight through to the malecon as of 8:00 this morning.

  19. Libramiento to Chapala and as dichosalocura said, any road east to Gonzalez Gallo, turn right at the end and straight down towards the lake and the Feria. Don't make a big deal out of nothing and enjoy your day.

  20. I am surprised by Ian's position on restaurant critiques as he probably knows more about restaurants than anyone on this board. Critiques both good and bad are vital to the industry as not only is there an obligation to provide a fair report on a restaurant but there is an obligation to provide the public with unfavorable views of the restaurant. These reviews provide me valuable information about my eating choices. While these reviews may cost the restaurant monies, it (might) encourage them to provide better service and food but best of all it may save me from a bad experience and waste of my eating monies.

  21. Nevermind "Grandma" advice. Personally, I appreciate a well described negative review since it saves me from the experience of going there myself.

  22. There is only one repair person (imho) that is worth calling. Gualberto Real (father and son). Those two can repair ANY major appliance and are efficient, personable, on time and reasonably priced. Landline: 765-5653 and cell phone: 331-026-5450.

  23. Why is that? Any eastbound road in Centro Chapala can get you to the Yacht Club easily.
