  1. As of tomorrow Beto’s Shack is smoke free. We will have a table outside in back of the restaurant designated for smoking, with an awning to protect from the sun. We're thankful for the support and the constructive criticism.

  2. you’re right, I’m sorry, I’m just getting started so it’s been a bit hard making ends meet but I’m getting a full time wait person and it won’t happen again, we'd be really happy to have u back and give u the best service we can. We're really sorry for the bad experience, but looking forward to offer our costumer's the best food service and attention.

  3. It's kind of sad. I posted about a good experience Heidi and I had to let people know and, to possibly help the restaurant. Unfortunately, there always seems to be vultures sitting on their respective limbs waiting to fly down and attack something! I swore months ago that I would never post on this board again. I guess, during a senior moment, I forgot...I won't make that mistake again! By the way, I don't need an English lesson from someone who obviously can't read! ADIOS!

  4. Just for the heck of it, why not go back to the original subject. This smoking/non smoking thing has been beaten to death along with dogs in a restaurant. Beto has DAMN GOOD BURGERS!

  5. Or smokers could show more courtesy. After all it is their addiction, not others.

  8. Turn south on street on the east side of Strom Movers parking lot. One block south, turn right on Zaragoza. Go 2 blocks and on the Southwest corner is Beto"s. Six or seven different burgers, hot dogs, chili dogs, onion rings, pulled pork and more. I had the double which reminded me of an In and Out burger. Excellent meat, juicy and, cooked perfectly! Great burger in walking distance from home....I'm happy!

  9. "Michael David Riley August 17, 1952 - November 8, 2021 With profound sadness, the family announces the passing of Michael Riley, at the age of 69 years. Cherished father of Erica Riley and predeceased by his son Matthew Riley. He is also survived by his longtime partner Cecilia Walters and her son, Nyah Walters, and his brothers Chris Riley and Steve Riley. Mike passed away suddenly at his lakeside home in Riberas/Chapala, Mexico early morning on November 8th from a heart attack. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, his clients, as well as his two cats, Patches and Spunky. Mike moved to Ajijic in 2003 with his mother Shirley, and soon after became known to the community as “Mike the Computer Guy”. A longtime technical expert, Mike helped many expats, locals, and gringos alike with their technological needs as well as editing books by local authors and designing book covers. He was passionate about music, movies, and books of all kinds, and would make people laugh with his witty banter. Mike was the funniest guy in the room and could always bring a smile to your face. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Ottawa Heart Institute or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family." My family will be posting this in our local newspaper in Ottawa, Canada. 10. Thank for posting the warning. It saved me a great deal of waiting time in heavy traffic. Sadly, while driving on the side-street, I did see one body covered with a blanket or cloth lying in Carretera across from the Ajijic Pemex. Those attempting to go East or West on the Carretere were barely moving. I feel very sorry for all concerned and hope for the best, if that is even possible for the family of the victim and any other participants in this terrible accident.

  11. I know exactly what policies changes as i get notification by mail and by app for each change as i'm a seller too. But this policy already has several years, not months. The only thing what changed lately which affects buyers directly is the minimum price for free shipping, which was $399 and changed to $299 in December of 2020. But even all of 2020 was the same policy only different minimum price. Again, no need to be rude to people who are trying to help you when you started talking about your problem and especially not after just 1 or 2 times answering. I can't read your mind you only want to tell your problems but don't want help to solve them. Not sure why you were telling this problem on this forum then. And even then if you don't want to listen, my answer can still help others who don't know how to get free shipping. It will help more then your outdated experiences.

  13. We are not asking smokers to QUIT smoking, just to stop for the 45 minutes or so they will be at an eatery. I smoked for 20 years (when I was young and stupid), but never had an issue not lighting up for an hour or two for whatever reason.

  14. Wow, I only answered two times trying to help. Not sure why the anger? Again, add 4 or 5 cans to the basket (or any products as long as the total of the same seller gets over $299) and you pay nothing of shipping. No need to contact the seller about it. As shown in the image i attached, shipping is free when buying 5 cans.

  17. I just re-attempted to login to my account It requires me to send them my Mexico election credencial - which as a foreigner, I do no have! There seems to be no way around it.... I tried sending US Passport - but they want what they want -- that we foreigners cannot possibly have And I have never been able to reach the company by any phone number I've seen. I think they have made themselves so proudly secure that they have eliminated customers like me. With no way to complain or ask for help .... or any thing else..... These secure security geniuses have blocked a lot of customers that could buy and pay..... If you have some means of contacting these secure locos, please.... Send them a link to this conversation so they'll know just how stupid their security geniuses are and how they have cut off paying customers thanks

  21. I'm not wanting discuss just wanting to help as I'm both a buyer and seller on ML Put 4 of those cans in your basket and the shipping is free. I just tried in and it says free shipping just paying for those cans. The system of ML automatically adjust the shipping price, no need to ask the seller. And free shipping above a total of $299 is always true when bought from same seller or for products marked as Full. There are only a few exceptions but those are rare mostly large items or marked as dangerous goods or in some cases a product is put on a wrong category. Otherwise there is no way a seller can sell items of $299 or more without including shipping.

  27. Go Solar, they have runs as fundraisers. Ask them if they will have an annual Mike Riley run where the runners acquire sponsors with a minimum of 20p to a max of 200p each. Like I said, the only thing that keeps them in operation is donations and nothing else. They have had a heart and stroke room with the necessary equipment to temporarily triage until they can get you to a hospital for several years now. Been in that room a coupla times. Great that somebody donated another ECG which is also known as an EKG. Hope it was another portable for one of the buses. I have been out of the loop for some time and really not physically capable of getting involved again. pedro kertesz

  29. She's right above Panache in that little strip to the right of Bugambilias Plaza. If you cross the street on the same side, there's a parking area first for Fedex, Dermika, Maria's, etc. The main building to their right is where she's located on the 2nd floor. There should be a sign for Ajijic Dental. The 3D printer is just amazing (yes, I'm easily amused). Hope that helps!

  31. OK, so it is not the plugging of pipelines, cancelling oil and gas leases on federal lands, shutting down fracking (that produces very clean natural gas), shutting down coal mines and power plants, etc., etc. etc. Lets give you that. Then what is going on??? Its anti-consumer pricing at the gas pumps and wait for it...its coming...coming...here is the real reason: COVID!!! Hee! hee! hee! This has become the catch all excuse for EVERYTHING!!! I see it in my business and anywhere someone needs an out...and don't you dare argue or else Dr. Fouche will be coming after you!!! The good news is that the American public (can you say voters) are not buying this at all. Look at you know who's popularity numbers...dropping like a rock and down where the fishes do not even swim!!!

  32. Ditto Cruz Roja. It's the first defense for both Mexicans and foreigners, indigent or not.Make it permanent in Mike Riley's name so that there can be on going donations. Donations is all they get to operate, but leave out the "only heart" related caveat. I have taken poor Mexicans there for various treatments and in the last year used them twice to take me to SAT for heart and stroke related problems in their bus. They have improved their abilities vastly since we arrived in 2006 and thanks to donations and training have a heart and stroke room and EMT equipment in the bus for same. pedro kertesz

  37. It's not old news....this from 2 days ago, https://www.wfaa.com/article/news/nation-world/whole-onions-salmonella-outbreak-chihuahua-mexico/507-ee3cb9e9-87b9-4513-aff4-573f43a27f7c#:~:text=The number of people sickened, for Disease Control said Tuesday.&text=The CDC said Tuesday that,red%2C white and yellow onions. And as I said, I have no idea if these onions were sold here or not. Do you know they weren't, for a fact? In the US, there are far more food safety regs, the CDC publishes recalls, etc. May be some standards here, but wouldn't count on being informed about issues quickly.

  38. No idea if these onions that were grown in Chihuahua were sold here. They are infected with salmonella. Washing with water won't kill salmonella. Cooking onions to a high temperature will kill salmonella. Not clear if colloidal silver products like Microdyne will kill 100% of salmonella...maybe some has better info on that. I have not stopped buying or eating onions here and have survived. But I do use Microdyne on any veg or fruit if eating it raw. I have had a few serious infections over the years, some from food, some not. I am just one of those people who need to be more careful as I have had a few scares with my body not responding to antibiotics that usually work quickly for others. Here are some links, https://www.thespruceeats.com/onion-recall-salmonella-cooking-2021-5208055#:~:text=Cooking onions to 150 F,potential salmonella%2C according to Dr.&text=He points out that onions,in order to be safe.” https://yucalandia.com/science-health-issues/salmonella-food-contamination-in-mexico/

  40. We went this past Sunday evening just before dark. There was one table occupied by patrons, all smokers, as was one of the owner-brothers, so we had a Coke, some popcorn, and instead placed our order to go. We chatted for a bit...they're sweet, young guys who for a time lived in Oregon and who are trying to make a go of things while they go to school and, honestly, the made decent and tasty burgers and fries. Thanks for the recommendation...you never know when you'll crave a burger and if you live west and can avoid traffic, all the better!

  43. Went back today and we met a friend for lunch. Heidi and split a coke, Heidi had a single with fries, I had the double with onion rings, and, Mike had a chili dog, fries, onion rings and a beer. The total charge for the 3 of us was $335. There's another place that serves single, double and triple burgers. I think this is much better at about half the price! Heidi n' Rick

  44. When I read your "would" comment I interpreted it as this (below). I am glad you are willing to not smoke during a meal out. I await other non-smoker comments as to whether the smoking impacts the non-smokers. "The main difference between will and would is that will is used for real possibilities while would is used for imagined situations in the future."

  46. I give up. I asked the seller about it months ago. The seller said the shipping was per can and ML determines the shipping fee. Maybe whoever answered was mistaken. I do not care. Let me explain one more time, I buy some items on ML that are cheaper than Amazon. ML has better spices such as it is the only place that sells Mexican oregano. Will you quit now?
