  3. Instead of making a barrage of nebulous useless posts, why do you not just give their contact info that you claim to have and end this attention seeking drivel?

  4. !. You do not need Medicare. All Covid vaccinations are free in the USA. 2. Depending on the state and dispensing location, you do not need to be a resident or even a US citizen. I had nephews and a sister & brother in law that were vaccinated in San Antonio, Texas last week. All are Mexican citizens with only a tourist visa. The presented their passports as ID.

  5. It doesn't sound to me like the Brazilians think the Chinese vaccine is successful. This board is mostly populated by Americans and Canadians many if not most of whom have the option to go north for the vaccine. We are paying $3500 per year for Medicare, we're going to get our shots up there.

  6. I am not against the sinovac vaccine however the chinese are not releasing data so how am I suppose to make an intelligent decision? Sputnik had the same problem until they released the info which they have.

  7. What I pasted from LCS's FB page was dated yesterday at that page. Contact the LCS person in that post, Norm Pifer for info; may save you a trip to the consulate. While the consulate staff is not coming to LCS, LCS is taking renewals to the consulate.

  8. Of course us 60 and over will get the 20 million Sinovac jabs they ordered. The most incompetent federal government in over 2 decades arranged it for us. 50 percent effective which is obviously more effective than they are, at least.

  9. A group of us 60+ residents of the Municipality of Poncitlan (east of Chapala) received our first jabs this afternoon in Mezcala, Next shot is to be given to us in 20-40 days. The vaccine used was the Sinovac (Chinese) vaccine which Mexico is administering for all of the rural areas where the Pfizer vaccine is impractical. There were about 200 people that were vaccinated and it was a remarkably well run and efficient process. Thanks to the Jalisco health unit. Oh... so far no side effects.

  10. I wonder which will get to Chapala Centro first, Ilox or Total Play. It will be interesting to see how quickly they can progress towards Chapala.

  11. We've been visiting for almost ten years (living here for four) and the change just in that time has been noticeable. Quite correct about increasing car ownership by Mexicans, and add to that many of the drivers (regardless of age) are new drivers which makes it more interesting. I second the idea of being strategic about when you go out, which is something I always did NOB, but did not expect at lakeside. Also, think about the relative issues. Yes, it's been 15 minutes across Ajijic at times, which is a crawl. But no one cares if you're late. roll down the windows and take in the sights. It's only a bother if you let it bother you (unless, of course, if you need an ambulance!).

  12. Perhaps it's time that you checked out Intercam. I just did a large amount and got my account credited instantly even though it will take about 7 days for the cheque will clear to them.

  15. I have pictures of my sister and I standing in front of the Ajijic plaza late 70s early 80's an there were no cars. Yes things have changed, in 2005 it still only took me 15 minutes to get to Ajijic. I live on the west end of the Lake and cringe when I have to go to Ajijic, on a good day I can be in Guad in 30 minutes when the other day it took me an hour to get to San Anatonio.

  16. Agree. 11 yrs living in Ajijic village. Wait til Easter wks (2 wks) but more importantly (long term), when no COVID, possibly next year, many more US and Canadians will be here than this year.

  17. Yes traffic is much worse. Mexicans have far more cars per capita then they did when we moved here 12 years ago, both locally and in GDL. The government is not only not dealing with it, they are making it worse, witness the crazy overcomplicated sure to gridlock nest of signals just installed in front of Walmart. Some have suggested only locating east of Walmart now, that may make sense.

What part did you not get about the 4 of the 6-[2 of the mask wearers were serving patrons when we called them over] taking masks off for the foto which time frame was about 2 minutes or less? -SNORK! Try reading more carefully before you find it necessary to punish yourself and innocent restaurant owner and employees in the process. pedro kertesz

  21. I don't watch TV- my biggest problem is figuring out when to call my kids. One's on Pacific time, one Mountain time, one Eastern time and I'm in Central. It's hard enough to keep track of without the stupid uncoordinated dst change.

  22. Yeah so come to a country where many if not most don't wear them at all.

  25. I just went through that intersection again today. It felt like a demolition derby - cars coming at me from all directions trying to turn East. West, North and South (yes South) SunFan

  28. That may be true but there was no alternative that had twice the efficacy. For covid there is.

  31. I have found that on occasion; Google and Facebook are not the best sources of facts. Maybe it's just me?? While this video is a bit long, it does explain how there is a combination of costs to consider. I have found that "Wise" formally "Transferwise" is the best combined rate for me. I

  36. Just google this guy and you will see that he is just another nut-job in the blabosphere of what is called SOCIAL MEDIA !!! I put into the search bar "Who is Dr. Steven Hotze M.D." and here is the first entry: Steven Hotze (born in 1949 or 1950) is a talk-radio host, physician, and Republican activist in Texas. He is an anti-LGBT rights activist, and has filed lawsuits to strike down COVID-19-related public health measures and invalidate ballots cast in the 2020 US election.

  37. Exactly and like Mainecoons said figure out how many liters of propane you need, you already know the price of it and multiply. And I made this up several years ago for people to make things easier. Most houses have a 300 liter cylinder, 50% now becomes 150 liters and 25% now becomes 75 liters, 1/8th or 12.5% is 37.5 liters, 1/16th or 18.75 liters is 6.25%, 1/32nd or 9.375 liters is 3.125% and 1/64th or 4.68 liters is 1.56%. If your at 30% and you want to bring it up to 80% you need 50% or 150 liters or better yet, if your at 26% and you want 80% you need to fill 54%. 168.75 will fill 56.25% and 159.375 liters will will fill 53.125%

  38. It would be nice if people would not keep saying "If you don't like the type of vaccine go to the Us and have it there. Not everyone is a US citizen. It would be just better to do what everyone is doing in Mexico and take the vaccine that is available and not only Mexicans are taking but many other countries have taken successfully.

  39. No thank you. I'd rather take my chances with Covid than take the sinovac.
