I feel the limiting of Tapatios should be reinstated. Ajijic village on weekends is being populated with tapatios who do not wear masks and gather in large groups. I feel the mayor needs to step in to stop tapatios who do not have homes here from coming in. No bringing all your friends for the weekend JMO

Yes, my brother returned to Canada last month from working overseas, he was required to submit a quarantine plan, you need to sign indicating you understand your legal obligation to self isolate for 14 days. Health Canada called him every other day to ensure he was staying home, and twice he received unannounced visits to check he was indeed at home. I don’t know if they have that kind of follow up for provincial quarantines but certainly for Federal ones they are taking enforcement quite seriously.

Bottom line is the best hospital care is still in GDL. When you look at it impartially, though, the care available here is far higher than usually found in such small population centers located adjacent to a major city.

Had to go to the emergency room on Sunday. They had no staff to run the equipment for the necessary tests and only one doctor who had to call another doctor because she didn't know what to do about a very simple case. The doctor said " you shouldn't come on Sunday's because we have very little staff. So...we will try to not get injured on a Sunday! just a heads up if you need a doctor on Sunday's the Ajijic clinic may be a better choices

Your opossum looks big enough to be on its own. Just turn loose in a safe rural area. Interesting fact, Opossums eat up to 10,000 ticks a year. At my farm I put out table scraps to feed one. Every night it checks to see if I put any thing out. I now have a lot less ticks so I am glad to have it around.

Luis. Take the supplements "full disclosure" document to a qualified nutritionist in Mexico. I am sure they can recommend real/live foods as an equivalent. The morning " licuado" is a witch's brew tradition in Mexico as I am sure you know. Find the ones which energise you, and those are the ones you grow. No chemicals, especially if you grow from seed. Many you can find growing in the mountains too. Expresso coffee is a great licquado by the way 😇😇😇😇

There has been no upsurge in cases here since Chapala was "opened up" a few weeks ago. As of Monday Chapala has 4 active cases with 5 awaiting test results. Jocotepec (where Raquet is located) has 3 active cases with 2 awaiting test results. For comparison on July 2nd Chapala had 2 active cases and Jocotepec 8 active cases

We have had nothing but good experiences at SAT hospital. Please don't even compare it to the former Maskaras clinic nor Ajijic clinic. Big difference between a REAL hospital and mere clinics. Judging from most of the posts on here, it has been made quite clear that SAT is good at what they do for a small hospital. and I for one am glad they are here. Good luck clinic users! pedro kertesz

The new hospital on the Libramiento looks close to open. I hope it will conform more to what is considered a hospital then the San Antonio Hospital/Maskaras Clinic. I worked for over 30 years in a hospital. That pension allows me to live here. OK, let me have it.

First of all, it isn't needed, because the CDN population is in the vast majority, doing the right thing. Secondly, between Baffin Island, Alert NWT, and many other similar places....Canada already has all the remote spots it would ever need. 😉

I concur - try to avoid the use of Correos de Mexico for any packages delivered from Vendors NOB. Biggest culprit seems to be items shipping from Vendors using US Mail (USPS). Tracking is excellent until the hand-off to Correos de Mexico at the border. There does not appear to be any integrated clearance service with SAT so the delays become horrendous and the products seem to go missing too frequently. Amazon MX/US/CDN seems to be the best solution currently if you can find what you are after and the product is fulfilled by Amazon's excellent logistics service. I have also has some good success with eBay IF the order can be shipped by Fedex or UPS but those couriers are more expensive than Amazon is with their International shipping. I have never had an incidence of either Fedex or UPS handing off to Correos de Mexico because they operate their own Mexican networks. Things appear to be changing as I noticed a recent eBay order coming in via UPS resulted in an email from UPS during the border crossing and the option to pay the IVA/brokerage fee on-line with a credit card. Paid it promptly and no significant delays and delivered 2 days later by UPS Mexico. Unfortunately, neither DHL or Estefeta are options available from most NOB vendors. My personal experience with Mercadolibre Mexico for domestic purchases/shipping has not been good so I avoid using them if I can.

You enter the portal via the man trip pictured, walk by the nightclub, then along the main vein for what seems like a mile, then exit via a different portal. For the several years I used iShop, very pleased. Checking postmarks, mail takes a bit less than a week to get to Ajijic. I quit sending packages via Laredo as the cost of shipping and customs was quite high. Now Amazon(both US and Mex) and Costco ship directly to the Ajijic iShop at no cost to me. Regarding checks sent north, very little need for that as more and more financial institutions allow deposits via a smart phone.

Home Depot stocks them. They aren't that expensive new. Not enough to take a chance on a second-hand one that could conk out the second time you used it.

I have found what I consider a better option. I use www.travelingmailbox.com. No need to go anywhere. I am notified when mail has arrived. I then select what I want done with it: view, print, delete, shred, forward, etc. and it is done. What I need a paper copy of, I print on my home printer. If I receive a check, they handle the deposit for a small fee. It is less costly and incredibly efficient. I would really consider that instead of the local shops.
