  1. I want to make beef stew so I went to Super Lake and bought a few cans at 19 pesos each can. I will be making a large batch so I needed more. I then went to Pancho’s the price looked to be 65 pesos, I asked the cashier and she said 79 pesos. So I then went to El Torito and it was 17 pesos Guess it helps to check around

  2. Yes and it is easy enough to mow one's own lawn, clean one's own house, etc, but who wants to? Anything can be made at home, however, we are retired. I have a friend who keeps saying the same to me, oh it is easy enough to make, do, etc

  3. The Op is totally irresponsible and nothing but a gossip monger. Shame on him for posting about a business he knows nothing about. He should be sent to the sandbox for a while.

  4. You can get a pvc tube at any hardware store. They are even better than the cardboard tubes. You can seal the ends with duct tape. Works great.

  6. Unless you can be more specific about the details you are are only speculating the Topes were the cause....could be someone on their cell phone not paying attention...or not

  7. Personally, I love 'em. It slows the overloaded truck traffic down before they're out of control at the bottom of the hill. The LIBRAMIENTO needed this to avoid more serious accidents at the intersection. That people are busy tailgating, talking on their phones, or speeding is the cause of accidents, not the topes.

  9. Was in Walmart and change due was 164 pesos. She gave me 4 20pesos bills and the gave me the rest in change in my hand I gave it back to her and asked her to count it. She obviously did not want to but I insisted.. she kept recounting it.and of course it kept coming up short. She had to get another 30 pesos out of the register. Always count your change

  10. The libramiento was without topes for 33 years. The truck accidents in that area can be counted on one hand. No one can show any study that says those numbers would change. As soon as they pass the topes they speed right up. All it will do is cause shocks, tie rod ends, and brakes to wear out sooner. Plus we have seen at least 3 accidents so far since they were installed.

  11. I was just on the phone with a neighbor in Guayabitos for about 10 minutes and during that call I lost his voice completely for about 5 seconds 2 times. This is something one would understand on a cell to cell call but not between 2 land lines or more correctly an ILOX to Telmex call. My only problem with ILOX has been their unwillingness to admit that a problem being described could be real. They rely on the old standard, "everything looks good in the system". I know from past programming days that a series of apparently random events can lead to an undesired outcome. The best developers acknowledged that the problem did indeed occur and painstakingly tried to figure out the how's and why's. Fixing a problem was always easier than figuring out how it happened. Overall my experience with support has been very good, far better than Telmex. I have not had to deal with the public vs private IP addresses but they did spend time with me opening ports for use in BitTorrent clients.

  13. I finally had to give in today and requested a port back to Telmex. Just too many dropped calls and voices fading in and out to continue waiting for some level of reliability. The 051 worked fine although the Telmex lady at first insisted I needed to get Internet with phone service. After several minutes on the computer and a couple of conversations she found that dial tone was available for about $180 pesos/month. You need to present a passport or IFE card to complete the port process.

  16. They have a facebook page. You can message them if you do not want to ask in person. They have chicken, beef and vegetable stock. It is very full of flavor.

  17. We and others have had the same problem at Walmart. For me the best solution is we now only pay with a credit card. No change involved. You insert the card into the machine, punch in your PIN then remove the card. The card never has to leave your sight.

  19. Pancho is still gouging his customers. I asked the price of their Clam Chowder the other day in the defunct deli section. They wanted 260 pesos for a liter. I can get it anywhere in town that makes it for 130 pesos. I obviously only go there when no one else has what I need.

  20. Ernesto Barron and company are excellent. He bids on the job and you pay a set amount each week. They do all the work that needs to be done that day. Sometimes they work for 2 hours, occasionally for up to 4 hours - two people - getting everything done. They aren't cheap but IMHO well worth the money.

  22. There are as many federal employees outside of CDMX than inside. There are ISSSTE clinics and hospitals everywhere. AMLO only changed the name of the Seguro Popular and nothing else and has tried to take credit for "creating" it overnight like magic. For many years and many times publically he denied it's existence. Just another politician of our present age conman. Don't believe what he says. Instead watch what he does.

  25. I don't trust the Mexican postal service to get things to the border in a timely manner. I wouldn't use them for time sensitive mail. I also don't like IShop's exorbitant prices either, but sometimes it's worth it.

  27. "Someone who maintains what is set up, versus a one time firestick set up." Absolutely wrong for lakeside firesticktv! Others, that maybe the case. i continuously help people who need it. First call out, if needed free. The apps are automatically upgraded, and can also be done remotely.most of the questions and fixes are done by messenger or email. Free!! the large majority of problems are internet and users not following instructions. on top of that i have stupidly answered calls upto 10pm on a Saturday snd Sunday. People wanting to know where they can find a certain movie on which channel showing a certsin football team. thats not happening any more, i jeed to rest as well. Im not a doctor! so to say theres only a one time setup and no back up is complete bollocks for my business.

  29. “Maskaras Clinic was started by Dr. Garcia, decades ago and was a hit, but times and competition took its toll.” Maybe apologize to Dr. Garcia for this. Times and competition obviously did not take its toll. He and his clinic were so successful the group built a new hospital and moved into it as planned and well known about for more than a year.

  30. May be sad to you, but has absolutely nothing to do with Dr. Garcia or Maskaras Clinic. They are done and gone. New hospital was very busy this morning with patients and medical specialists from GDL. It is run by a Board of Directors of which Dr. Garcia is a well respected and highly regarded, influential member as he was one of the primary people responsible for the creation of the hospital.

  33. This is strictly an FYP post. I'm not looking for comments, just to give information that might help or be of interest. I have posted everything I know to date. =========================================================== Maskaras clinic is permanently closed, stripped out and being renovated and a "For Rent" sign on the building. Dr. Garcia and some other providers, have associated with the new San Antonio Hospital. Dr. Garcia has an office there. Maskaras Clinic was started by Dr. Garcia, decades ago and was a hit, but times and competition took its toll. Sad to say that one of the providers/staff who worked at Maskaras, left owing a large debt of back rent. Also, patients who paid in advance for services and product, are left in the cold. They can't get their product because the lab wasn't paid and the provider is M.I.A. Add to this that everything inside the office of the M.I.A. provider appears to have been embargoed by the attorney for the landlord. Spencer can explain that one.
