  2. No, if not here, it would belong in lakeside restaurants index. But I for one am happy to see it promoted here, Hector and Manix deserve the attention for all he has done and continues to do for the community both personally and professionally.
  3. Yesterday
  4. I have been using Doctor Rocio for years ever since she arrived in Ajijic And very happy with her work..
  5. There are alot of different levels in that building and no ramps...
  6. Again, that's why I suggested he speak with a MX attorney.
  7. Sorry but as a permanente i would think You have a problem if all of a sudden You have no nationality.
  8. The op needs local information also. Is he naturalized inMX? Is he Permanente? If yes, no problem. If temporal, he may be relying on income from U.S. to meet financial requirements.
  9. The reason I posted information for Alvaro Becerra was to make sure he DOES have citizenship in MX. Jim R must have citizenship somewhere before giving it up somewhere else. Since Jim R is posting on this forum I imagine he has or should have citizenship here. https://1040abroad.com/faq/renouncing-u-s-citizenship/ "In order to renounce your U.S. citizenship, you need to have a second passport (citizenship of another country). You will be required to bring this with you to the renunciation appointment. The State Department will deny anyone the right to renounce their U.S. citizenship if they do not have a second passport."
  10. My info goes back to 2006, so I guess this rule, as well as many others worldwide, has changed. Would never do it anyway but......
  11. I ASSUME you are already a dual ( or more) citizen of one or more other countries. Before you make this leap, better check out the various current entry requirements to any country you may want to visit in the future. As an example, Canada recently changed this same for Mexicans entering Canada who prior, did not need a Visa. This happened overnight, causing a lot of trouble for some. As a dual ( Canadian--Mexican) it has long been the case that I leave and re-enter Mexico on Mexican PP, but if I dind't have a Canadian PP, I'd need a Visa to enter U.S...... which takes time, money, and a long lineup ahead.
  12. Sorry that is not true. One of the requirements to renounce Canadian citizenship is haveing a citizenship in another country. Info on govt website https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/canadian-citizenship/renounce-canadian-citizenship.html
  13. Alvaro can help him if he doesn't have MX citizenship.
  14. Rosemary Ajijic https://maps.app.goo.gl/LZfnkYv9nUyD7Q2y5
  15. Great news! Isn't it nice to know that there are still a lot of honest folks out there?y
  16. We love Dra. Rocio. She's a great dentist and very caring. As another poster said, there are several very good dentists here. .
  17. No attorney needed to renounce US citizenship. It can be done in the consulate in Guadalajara. Simple process. Here is the information to do it here https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/travel-legal-considerations/us-citizenship/Relinquishing-US-Nationality-Abroad.html As to Federal taxes there are some requirements, and forms to fill out. If your tax situation is very complicated then a tax accountant in the USA can help.
  18. I noticed that too. Most people don't realize that it is law in Mexico that new establishments open to the public are to be wheelchair accessible - not enforced of course.
  19. Heading says U.S.Attorney so i assume he means U.S. citizenship. Alvaro cannot help him with that
  20. 15 April 2024 Visa rate 16. 388016 Mastercard rate 16.546511 (Present day's rate was available at 3:05 PM EST)
  21. So could we get back to the topic: the new Manix??? Wrong place or not, it got read! Lexy
  22. Agree. Not reading the other sections of the forum is like only reading the first page of the newspaper.
  23. From the number of posts in other forums I believe others ARE looking at them.
  24. https://m.facebook.com/MiriamAnguianoR https://www.yelp.com/biz/restaurante-rosemary-ajijic
  25. A few times recently we've had people ask if we know anything about Rosemary's. We've been here a very long time but, we had never heard of the restaurant. We've since determined where it is located (just to the west of Aquiles Serdan on Hidalgo.) We're always interested in searching out new venues. Any comments, recommendation or opinions would be most welcome. On the Internet we were totally unsuccessful in attempting to open their website. Thanks.
  26. . If you don't look at other forums, why do we have them? Good question. I never look in them.
