I
just got an e-mail message from "Fun Forwards"
saying today is "Teddy Bear Day," of all things.
Now, while I like teddy
bears as much as -maybe more than- the next guy, I still
have to shake my head agog at the lengths to which these
hallmark types will go to sell gift paraphernalia. I
bet there isn't one single day in the year they haven't
got covered with a trumped-up Madison Avenue festival.
Now, I put it to you: Shouldn't teddy bears be more
special than that?
